Male birthday card making for Visible Image

Good morning and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's inspiration I am sharing a birthday card for a man, I think most of us find these quite tricky to do! Visible Image have a whole "drinks cabinet" of stamps designs which work so well for these cards. From gin to whisky and even cocktails. They all have coordinating dies too which makes layering cards a dream.  There are live links in this post which will take you straight to the VI website. You can check out the whole range here. For my card today I chose to work with the fun

Bring on the beers set

I used one of the sentiments from Birthday wishes. This set really is a must have in your stash. It's worth having just for the stars accessory stamp which I use so much on birthday cards.
 I also used both the positive and negative die cuts using the awesome and versatile

This is what I got up to;

I used a rectangle of inky mop up distress inked card, which had blues and brown inks on it. I die cut the aperture for my card using the Framed fibres die. I then stamped and clear embossed the birthday sentiment from Birthday wishes. and the cheers stamp from the Bring on the beers set

Using the star cluster from the Birthday wishes set I repeat stamped it onto a black piece of card using Picket fence distress oxide ink, cut to fit and stuck under the aperture.

Using the stars again I randomly stamped them using gold ink around the frame of the card.

I stamped the beer images onto white card. I always make these in bulk as they are so useful for my cardmaking and I don't have to start from scratch each time.
I die cut them out
with their co ordinating dies  and coloured them using distress pencils.

I added glossy accents to make the drips and froth on the glass and added some glitter to make the "head" stand out even more.

I also stamped and die cut the bottle caps adding gold pen accents.
While everything was drying I die cut a white and gold framed fibres

 and replaced these into the aperture, turning one upside down, so that they created a really "fizzy" background. I stuck my card onto a black card blank die which I cut and made from a piece of 350gsm black card.

I then glued my images in place, adding foam pads to the glass and front right bottle to add dimension.

Here is my finished card

with some close ups

and one final shot.

 I have added some live links to the Country View Crafts website where you can purchase some of the products I have used. If any items are out of stock just hit the email request button.

For today's make I used the gorgeous Visible Image Night owl set available on the website here

with the Branch out stencil available here

This is what I got up to;
I used one of my inky backgrounds from my stash and cut to a 5 1/4" square. I place the stencil over to the left
and using gathered twigs distress ink blended it through the stencil using a blending foam tool.

I stamped the owl and moon from the Night owl set and the sentiment and stars from the Birthday wishes set (not in stock yet on the CVC website but it's coming!)
Using distress crayons I water coloured the owl. Susan has all the sets in stock over at CVC here

I added some die cut stars as a finishing touch. I matted it onto blue glitter card and then a white 5 3/4" card blank. Here is my finished card;
with a couple of close ups

and 1 final shot;

I really hope that I may have inspired you to join in with the "autumn magic" fun. Do head over to the challenge now being hosted on Facebook here. I have decided that for now I will continue to blog my makes so that I can share some process photos. Sparkle in the rain

Hi again I am here today with my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. I decided to make a card, the sentiment of which may well resonate with anyone who is going through a tough time at the moment.  I used 2 lovely stamp sets which work so well together;

Sparkle in the rain

and Look forward with hope

Together with the fun Scribble stencil

This is what I got up to;

I put the stencil onto a 5 1/4" square of  Daylor Rowney mixed media card, using the smoother side,  and sprayed through twisted citron, mustard seed and picked raspberry distress stain sprays and left it to dry.

I stamped the girl from Sparkle in the rain using Nocture Versafine Claire ink and clear embossed.

I stamped one of the sentiments from  Look forward with hope in the same way, to the right of the image.

Then I used the other stamps from both sets to add some background stamping.

For a finishing touch I went around the edges of the card with picked raspberry ink on a blending sponge.  This was then matted onto black card and finally a square white card blank.

Here is my finished card

with a couple of close ups

 and 1 final shot

The new place to find Country View Craft challenges

After a lovely summer break Country View Challenges are back in its new format. They are now being hosted over in the new Country View Crafts and Challenges Facebook group. This makes it easier for everyone who wants to enter, to do so. You don't need a blog or an Instagram account, just head over to the group and join in with the fun! For my first design team make this month I decided go with an autumnal birthday card made for my Dad who has always loved to spot and name toadstools in the countryside.

 I have added some live links to the Country View Crafts website where you can purchase some of the products I have used. If any items are out of stock just hit the email request button.

I decided to use the Visible Image Totally Toadstools stamp set and their coordinating dies

 with the Supernova stencil

and a sentiment from "Birthday wishes" (which Susan can order in for you but should be on the website soon).

This is what I got up to;

I sprayed rustic wilderness and mustard seed distress stain sprays onto white card. Using wild honey distress oxide ink I blended it through the Supernova stencil

I stamped some of the images from the  Visible Image Totally Toadstools stamp set and die cut using the coordinating dies. I coloured these using distress pencils

I stamped the sentiment in place using Versafine Clair nocturne, adding more foliage stamping to the background.
I added stars from the same set using versafine clair tulip and some die cut stars. I finished off with some gold glitter pen details.

Here is my finished card
