More time for tea

It is time for my second card to hopefully inspire you to enter our current challenge over at STAMPlorations.
The theme for March is stamps and tea/coffee. This is a fun one for me as I really am a tea addict.
 Below is the lovely sketch which you can also use if you would like to.

The rules in brief are that you need to use stamping on your projects. You don't have to use STAMPlorations stamps to enter but of course we love it if you do! You can link up 6 times with new blog posts and you need to add our logo to your post. You can go with the theme, the sketch or both, the choice is yours. There are some fab prizes to be won too!
This is the link to the challenge with all the info you need.

As always I used the theme and sketch and this is what I got up to.
I used the always tea time stamp set
and the clustered hearts stencil
Remember that if you use my unique code STAMPGIRLJANE at the checkout you can save an additional 20% to any other offers currently running if you buy anything from the website.

To make the white background I used texture paste through the stencil

and used red distress ink through the stencil on some inky mop up card for the border piece.
I stamped and paper pieced the cups and stamped one of the lovely sentiments.
Here is my finished card.
We really hope to see lots of you joining us over at the March challenge. Once again this is the link to the challenge with all the info you need.

Time for tea

Hello and welcome to a brand new STAMPlorations theme and sketch challenge. The theme for March is stamps and tea/coffee. This is a fun one for me as I really am a tea addict.
There is nothing I enjoy more that a proper cup of tea, in a cup and saucer in my garden and if the sun is shining it's even better!

I love sitting and enjoying my little garden whilst sipping my tea.

My family laugh that they have never heard me turn down the offer of a cuppa! I do sometimes drink cappuccino but I don't drink instant/filter type coffee at all. I went "off" coffee when I was pregnant with my son (now aged 30!) and never got a liking for it back!
There is also a sketch lovely sketch you can use too.

More family time with STAMPlorations

Hello today I am sharing my 2nd mid month post for STAMPlorations
I am Guest Designing with these great stamps until July.
This the link to the main website, do check it out, there are some really fab designs there and Shery posts worldwide at a really reasonable rate.

The theme for June is Stamps and Family. You can find all the details here
For my first project I used the sketch to make an anniversary card for my Hb. If you missed this you can find it via this link.

For my 2nd project I thought of something very dear to my family's heart...drinking tea. Yes seriously in our family some of our most important decisions and discussions are made over a cup of tea. My family smile at how many times I will say
 "OK let's have a cuppa."
I even have some gorgeous cups and saucers which I like to occasionally serve my Earl Grey in.

There is nothing quite like a cup of tea in my books.

I used these products to make my tea inspired card;

Hello stamp from the Bold sentiments available here
and the cup of roses stamp available here

I used my roses and teacup stamp which I stamped onto my card base made from a D'Oxide piece of mop up card.

I then laid down some distress inks and used the wrinkle free distress technique to add my colours to another piece of card...building up the layers..................
I then stamped some of the words from the cup of roses set, randomly in the background.
I used some inky left overs to punch out 5 flower bases using my Tim Holtz flower punch. I layered them up and added a gel sticky brad to the centre of each one for some extra dimension.

. I stamped and embossed the hello sentiment from the bold sentiments set and fussy cut it out.

Here is my finished card.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Noor summer
Fashionable Stamping 2/3 feminine
Simon says stamp Monday 2/5 touchy feely
WOW embossing powder Summer
We love to create 2/2 #12

Dotty's Teahouse turns 1

Yesterday was the 1st birthday for Dotty's Teahouse, the vintage tearooms in Carshalton, where I sell my cards. I cannot believe that a whole year has gone by. I joined Dotty's as a seller on day 1 and I numbered up card 405 recently so gulp I have made and sold a lot of cards in 1 year.
As always the window display looked delightful and was in the style of WW2 as Dotty's was also supporting Dame Vera Lynn's charity for the day.

 Rebecca and her lovely team were all dressed up and looked ab fab...here is Rebecca on the right with Lesley her right hand rock and roll woman 😁

These ladies are all so lovely, always smiling...

A quick peep at my cards....

There was live entertainment...........

Such a fun atmosphere
Even the original Dotty, the vintage caravan made an appearance
I love being a small part of Dotty's and if you are ever near to Carshalton High Street do stop by. It is the most wonderful place to enjoy tea and cake..and lunch too!

You may have spotted in my very first photo today that there were 2 birthday cards in the window.  I made them both 😊.m.

The one on the right I gave to Rebecca and her team. You will see that one on my blog in detail tomorrow so I will share my " Dotty is 1" birthday card today.
Here she is;
The girls from Dotty's commissioned me to make this card. They wanted something tea related and pink for Rebecca. This digi is one of  Lili of the Valley's simply print images and was perfect. I even die cut a pink cup with a stripey saucer! The papers  were a great find in my ancient paper stash....

Yes surely "everything stops for tea" 😉

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Allsorts birthday it was also their birthday yesterday, but they were 8.. Dotty has some catching up to do!
Crafty Catz anything goes with a twist of more than 2 layers I have at last 5 on my card!
Creative Inspirations 3/3 anything goes
The Ribbon Girls 1/3 use any image

I am back tomorrow morning with my weekly Visible Image inspiration where I will share details of my other Dotty's birthday card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and can I extend a very warm welcome to my newest followers. Thank you for joining me on my creative journey here at Jane's Journal.

The sun is up and I am heading out to the garden to sort out my summer pots.

Bye for now,

Jane x
