Guest designing for STAMPlorations

Hello and if you are a first time visitor here to Jane's Journal I would like to extend the warmest of welcome's to you.
Here in the UK the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing their hearts out. Here are my local ponds where I get so much inspiration from.

I am delighted to be here today as a Guest Designer for the lovely Shery of STAMPlorations, USA. If you are in the UK you may not of heard of these gorgeous stamps. I will share some links during my post for you to check out the website and see Shery's fantastic designs.
This the link to the main website, do check it out, there are some really fab designs there and Shery posts worldwide at a really reasonable rate.
There are also lots of fun challenges which run each month over on her website. I am thrilled to be Guest Designing for the Theme and Sketch challenge for the next 3 months. All the details can be viewed in this link

Our theme for May is STAMPS AND ALPHABET and there is the additional sketch below, which it would be lovely to see you use, but it is not compulsory.

We need to see your stamps and some form of letters, words etc.

For my card I used the sketch and ripped and stuck on some book pages (from A Tale of  two Cities if you are interested ;0)

The stamps I used are the gorgeous Trendy Birds set available here

I stamped and embossed several and fussy  cut them out.
I used these Distress inks to colour my birds
and also to create a line of inking through the book pages

Here's a close up
I used the soar sentiment too and put together my card...
 a couple of close ups....

It would be lovely if you could join in the fun over on the challenge this month. Thanks so much for stopping by here today.

I would also like to link my card up with the following fun challenges;

Simon Says Stamp Monday the great outdoors
Card Mania 2/3 life is colourful
A bit more time to Craft 2/3 anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by and I would like to thank you Shery for inviting me to Guest Design for you for the next 3 months. I will also have a half way reminder post for this challenge coming up on 19th May.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

Music from my garden

Hello, today I am delighted to be guest designing for the ladies over at Try it on Tuesday.

They have a new challenge up today. The theme is music. It would be lovely if you could join in with the fun which runs for the next fortnight.  I started to think of some musical ideas and then whilst sitting in the sunshine in my garden enjoying a cup of tea it came to me.....Mother Nature's music that I am hearing all around me.....yes birdsong. I decided to make a spring/early summer themed birthday card.

There is sadly no "sound" on photos but if there were you would be hearing sweet songs from the nesting birds and quacks from the ducks on the ponds.

For my Birdsong card base I used my wood grain embossing folder and added blues and brown inks to the embossed card.

I die cut a bird on branch with my Tim Holtz die and added some musical notes using my Lili of the Valley music score stamp.
He looks like he's singing now ;0)
I used my Memory Box music stave for my die cuts and one of the 3 mosaic butterflies I made recently. If you would like to see how I made it the link is here.
I also added some music stamping to some inky scraps
 to die cut some flowers.

Then it was time to put on my creative hat..............

and this is the birthday card I created.

and a few close ups.

and a last one of my singing birdie
Thanks ladies for inviting me to Guest Design for you today, it's been a pleasure. Thank you for popping over to see me here and I hope that you can hear the birds in my garden from where you are ;0)
This was my garden last week, I was busy working in my garden studio getting my cards ready for Dotty's Teahouse.
