Who left these footsteps?

Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. Can you guess who did leave these footsteps?

Yes, none other than the man in the red suit! It is time to share some inspiration for some of the fab Christmas stamps and stencils. Over the next 2 weeks the Design team will be sharing daily inspiration to showcase the Christmas stamps and stencils. You are really spoilt for choice and to give a little heads up they are also in a special time limited 50% off sale!! WOW! Check them out here but hurry as stock is limited at these amazing prices

I decided to make a  Christmas gift wrap and tag set.  I had a hard time choosing the stencil and stamps to use for my make but eventually I decided on the

Boot prints stencil (which at the moment is reduced to just £2.99!!)

with the cutey Snowman Jack (just £5.99 instead of £11.99)

and one of the gorgeous sentiments from my favourite of all Christmas sentiment sets; Sentimental Christmas which is also just £5.99 instead of £11.99
This is what I got up to.

I love making personalised gift wrap and I have shared many makes over the years. I always use brown paper and distress inks as personlly I find that a good mix. The ink dries pretty instantly and doesn't smudge. And yes you can stamp using Visible Image clear stamps with distress ink...I get asked that a lot. The stamps are made of the highest of quality photopolymer and are deeply etched. Also the stencils are fabulous quality and a great depth too.

So first of all I used Black soot distress ink, an ink blender and the Boot prints stencil to stencil the boots all over the sheet of paper.
I just hold the stencil in place, it's easy to line up again if it moves. Taping it down might tear the paper.

Santa really has been stomping around hasn't he!

Next I used Festive berries distress ink and the 4 tiny snowflakes from the Snowman Jack set and put them all onto together on a block.

I then used them to randomly stamp snowflakes all over the sheet of paper.

Once my sheet of paper was finished it was time to make my tag.
I stamped, coloured and cut out  Snowman Jack. You will notice that I paper pieced his scarf and hat for some extra detail and dimension.
I stamped a red tag with the snowflakes and swoosh from  Snowman Jack . I stamped and embossed this lovely sentiment from  Sentimental Christmas. I also stamped the star from this set using gold ink.

Here is my finished snowman tag.
And here is Snowman Jack with his matching gift wrap all ready for the man in the red suit to deliver on Christmas Eve.

I hope I might have inspired you to make some of your own gift wrap and tags? They don't have to be just for Christmas and make a gift so personal.

Hedgehog love

 Good morning it's time for my fortnightly blogged Visible Image design team post. The new autumn release is now on sale worldwide and has gone down a storm. There are 9 gorgeous new sets to choose for and if you have been sleeping under a log (with the cute hedgehog) and missed them do check them out on the website here. Today I am sharing a pair of tags I made using the stamps from one of my favourites (shhhh) Hedgehog hugs. I also teamed it up with some existing stamp sets.

I used 2 tags from my stash.
 The left one is made from a book page and altered using barn door distress ink and all the great stamps from the
Grunge tones set This set is perfect for a quick background.
The tag on the right was made using various distress stain sprays.
I also stamped some leaves onto inky mop up card using
which I cut out.
I stamped in black versafine and clear embossed both the hedgehogs from Hedgehog hugs, coloured them with watercolour markers and cut one of each out.

I also stamped out the sentiments and distressed the edges. Then it was time to assemble my tags.

Here they are finished.
Some individual photos;

and one final shot;
The new autumn stamps are so gorgeous and as you can see work so well with existing sets too.

More leaves for Country View Challenges

It's time for my 2nd DT make for our September challenge over at Country Vie which I am hosting this month. My theme is "the leaves begin to fall" so I would like to see leaves as a main part of your project, no tiny single leaves please! As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

If you missed my first make you can find it here. There are live links to the shop website in my post so just click on them if you would like to purchase anything. If Susan is out of stock of anything just fill in the email reminder and she will contact you when they are beck in stock.

This is what I got up to;

For today's make I was torn between using my awesome new Tim Holtz Sizzix 3D oak leaf die or my Visible Image stamped leaves. I couldn't decide which so I decided to use both! The oak leaf die is awesome and makes the most realistic detailed leaves. I used some inky mop up card and die cut the leaves.

I then added some brown distress inks and finished them off with the awesome new distress mica stain sprays. I used the gold and copper from The halloween set #1

The sheen is so incredible in real life, always so difficult to show in photos.

 I also stamped and cut out some leaves using my Visible Image Erika's maple set using inky mop up card.

I decided that all these leaves would make the perfect nest for one of the brand new hedgehogs from the gorgeous  Hedgehog hugs set
So I stamped him out ( I always stamp out a few so that I have spares for other cards) I coloured my hedgehog with watercolour pens and then cut him out.

I sprayed some watercolour card with a few distress oxides and stains to make a background and stamped the grass from the  hedgehog set and also I stamped and matted the Visible Image Happy birthday sentiment.
 I then put everything together. The finishing touches were a few sequins.

Here is my finished card;
with a close up
and one final shot.

I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our September "the leaves begin to fall " challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.
You can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with other challenges. There is also a £20 crafting voucher up for grabs to the lucky randomly selected winner to spend over on the Country View Crafts on line store. Once again all the details for the September challenge can be found here.

Remember that the Country View Crafts website has FREE UK postage for any orders over £7.50 and international postage is very reasonable.  I wrote a post for the shop recently sharing all the new Visible Image stamps, you can check it out here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take care and stay safe. I will be back to share my 2nd design team project on Friday.

I would love to see you over on Instagram where I share new creative makes nearly every day. This is my link/profile @jane.tyrrell
Sadly these days I just don't have the time to blog everything!

Bye for now
