Into the bluebell woods

A couple of weekends ago my Hb and I went for a walk in our local woods. I shared a post here where you can see some photos of the gorgeous trees newly leaved in their lime green colours. I promised I would be back to share the bluebells that we saw too. This annual spectacle is something I wait for and never miss. It is just magical.

Whilst we were there we took a moment to sit on a log and gazed up into the tree canopy above us through to the blue sky and sunshine.

When I got home I decided that I needed to make a "Moment" for Jane's Journal to remember that time.

I knew that the fabulous Into the woods stamps set from the brand new Visible Image release

would be perfect so I decided to make my weekly DT piece for today using it together with the beautiful new butterfly ink stencil

I started with a piece of watercolour card the same size as my journal and added some drips of Salty Ocean, antique linen and cracked pistachio distress oxides to start off my background. I then used a corner of the stop meshing around stencil

as the sun using yellow Distress inks
I added some more "sunlight" using the take my hand stencil...the hand of Mother Nature perhaps?

As you can see English bluebells are not blue at all but more a shade of mauve.
so I added this colour through my butterfly ink stencil

I added 5 butterflies around the page using Wilted violet distress oxide and then added some more depth using the circle stamp from the Hummingbird set

Once I was happy with my tree canopy it was time to stamp the woods....first the under canopy in purple, to represent the drift of bluebells.
Then the top line in green, to show those brand newly unfurled leaves. I took the stamping around the sides of the page as I wanted to give the impression that we were sitting down and gazing up from the floor of the bluebell wood.
So here we are.......let me set the scene again......"It is a glorious blue sky morning. The sun shone out like a ball of lemon fire.

It was the kind of day that makes you glad to be outside, hand in hand with Mother Nature.

 Into the woods we went
to be greeted by the splendor and scent of bluebells, their drifts were everywhere, like a carpet of purple.
We sat down for a moment to pause and looked up through the canopy of the newly leaved trees to the clear blue sky above...a Moment in time to remember. "

Below is my Moment in it's entirety. I think the words I chose to use from the set summed up how we feel about our life. It was a blissful Moment there, among the bluebells.

I would like to enter my Moment into the following challenges;

Magical bluebells

The bluebells in our local woods have been stunning over the last few weeks. We went up again on Sunday to take another peep... it is just magical. The bluebells create a misty carpet and the spicy scent rises from them; it really is a scene to behold.

I will share some of my favourite photos I have taken of this years's amazing annual feat of Mother Nature.

When we walked in it felt like a fairy entrance..................

welcoming us into The Enchanted Wood (did you also read The Magic Faraway tree as a child 😊)

We became more and more spellbound at every twist and turn in the path.........

English bluebells at their very best..in the most beautiful woodland setting.
So my card today was totally inspired by those magical walks. I used my newest Lavinia stamp which I bought at Ally Pally last month. I wanted to capture that new lush green of the leaves as well as the blue and purple tones of the bluebells. I used regular distress inks, which I blended.  I stamped the background leaves using archival ink and there is one or 2 of Tim's floral stencils in there too. The fairy is black embossed and there is a wink of stella on her wings for some fairy dust.
The die cut sentiment is Tim Holtz and I cut it in glitter card for even more sparkle.

 My card was made for the following challenges;

Frilly and Funkie 3/3 put on your inking cap
Emerald Creek Dares 1/3 dream a little dream
Happy little stampers May 2/3 watercolouring anything goes
Card Mania 2/3 life is colourful
A bit more time to Craft 2/3 anything goes
Allsorts 2/3 embossing my fairy is embossed
Simon Says Stamp Monday the great outdoors
The Artistic Stamper 1/3 floral fantasy

Thanks so much for stopping by, before you go I just want to share some more exciting news....the June edition of Craft Stamper is now out in the shops...

.and I have a project inside 😄 It's part of a Visible Image Design Team 3D challenge we made for the magazine...here's a sneak peek of my piece...I can't share more until next month...but I  bet you can guess who I used as my inspiration again......meow 😻

Bluebell woods

Last week my Hb and I managed to get up to the local woods to see if the bluebells were out....and yes they were. We had such a lovely walk and it was so relaxing listening to the birds in the trees and admiring the wonders of the annual bluebell show.

The sun was shining as we entered the woods
and we didn't have to walk too far until the blankets of bluebells were revealed to us

These are the true native English bluebells...such gorgeous flowers and their scent wafted throughout the woods as we walked.......
How clever is Mother Nature putting on this annual spectacle for us.
and what a wonderful afternoon walk we enjoyed.

For my card today I thought I would share a "blue" card, a baby boy card. I used my distress inks to make the focal and then coloured on top with my Promarkers. I rather liked the effect. This is another for my stock for the tea rooms. I used another of my Ladybug Craft inks stamps. The paper is an ancient one and the die cuts are all Memory box other than the spellbinders frame. The sentiment is Lili of the Valley.

With a sweet little teddy bear charm ;0)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Simon Says stamp Monday show us your metal I have used a metal charm
Noor UK anything goes
Little Claire's 3/3 spring colours
Creative Card Crew wet or dry embosssing I have used both. I wet embossed the baby stamp and I dry embossed the baby toys.
Crafty Hazelnut's paper challenge April
I love Promarkers pastel colours
Simon Says stamp Wednesday anything goes

I blinked and found that April has nearly ended...how did that happen? I cannot believe how busy I have been this month and I now wonder how I ever had the time to work!

I will be back on Sunday to  share my May design team inspiration for the next Country View Crafts Challenge. It would be lovely if you could stop by and take a peep. I so appreciate all your support.

Thanks for visiting me today and a very warm welcome to my newest follower.

Back on Sunday,

Bye for now,

Jane x
