Lift off time

For those of my lovely blog readers who are non papercrafters you might think that with the title of this post that I'm off to the moon. Not this week! Some of you may know what I am referring to..yes it's the amazing new Ranger Lift off ink. It lifts alcohol ink off from a porous to a non porous surface and opens up so many new crafting possibilities.  Tim Holtz has some brilliant videos on line and there is lots of inspiration around in blog land so do check it out.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on some from Susan at Country View Crafts. (She offers free UK postage and packing too).
I have been playing around with some backgrounds over the last few weeks and I have shared a couple on Facebook..Here is one of my first efforts.
I got this fab lift off image (on the left) using the seahorse and jelly fish from the Create you calm
and dare to swim sets. What remains on the right is a brilliant ghosted negative. I used that background to make my daughter and son in laws anniversary card which I shared here a few weeks back here if you would like to see it

For my Monday Visible Image DT project today I decided to make another "lift off" alcohol ink background. After adding various inks I used the time swirl from the ahead of our time stamp set to lift it off.

Visible Image stamps work brilliantly with this technique. They lift off the ink perfectly as they are such an awesome thickness and quality. I love the effects you get.
With the lifted ink I stamped this  multi coloured time swirl below, which I can use another time. It's 2 for the effort and price of one. That's all good in my books.
I then coloured up the White Rabbit

using distress inks and added glossy accents to his fob watch and gold pen accents to his buttons and chain (you will see this in the finished card).
I also stamped and coloured a couple of other little elements. First the teapot from The Mad Hatter set. I added the heart from the  Own kind of beautiful set for this project as I didn't want to use the skull.
I cut it out and added festive berries distress glitter.
I also stamped up the light bulb from the glimmer of light set to pull my design together.

I stamped and white embossed wake up and be awesome
onto acetate and then put my design together.
This is my finished card.
Here are some close ups.
and you can see the light bulb shedding some extra light on the scene...it must be winter for Mr Rabbit as it's 8.06 am and in his world it's still not light 😂
and one last shot

Grinning like the Cheshire cat

Good Monday morning everyone and it's time for some more Wonderland inspiration for my weekly design team post for Visible Image. This new release is going down a storm in the crafting world and people are falling in love with these quirky characters all over again.
Today I am sharing my sample made with the fabulous Cheshire cat.

As I adore all things cat, he is one of my favourites even though I genuinely love them all.
I decided to make a rather "out of this world" background for him so I got out my black card and distress oxides.
and made up a purple based galaxy background.
I took the time tunnel stencil

and added gold ink through it. In real life this really shimmers.
I coloured my cat with Promarkers and cut him out. I also stamped and gold embossed the words onto black card.  I then put my design together.

Here it is
I stamped the "invisible" cat face stamp in the gold rays and added the fun claw marks too.
I added glossy accents to his eyes for extra mad shine!
The little fish stamp is such fun and I think this sentiment sums a lot of us up particularly when crafting!
Inside the card I could not resist stamping this....
and one final photo

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

The Wonderful world of Wonderland

Hello it is time for my Monday Design Team make for Visible Image. They have a brilliant new stamp release...a revisit to their awesome and much loved Alice In Wonderland stamps which were discontinued a few years back.
So many people have asked for them to return and there is a magical twist. ALL the original 6 characters now have new extra stamps and words and all the words work across every stamp set. Plus there is one brand new character....the Caterpillar who I absolutely love. Do check them all out on the website here
I have been beavering away in my studio over the last week making some samples, which you may have seen on Mark and Helen's Facebook live video. You can check that out and see the samples we made here
Today I am delighted to be sharing my first sample I made using the amazing Mr Caterpillar. I know we shouldn't have favourites as they as all amazing, but I have such a soft spot for this cutie.
I love colouring images and decided for my first samples that I would get out my much loved and well used Promarkers.
I stamped Mr Caterpillar and his amazing toadstool onto smooth card stock and coloured them. We laughed during the live Visible Image Facebook video as to whether this should be called a mushroom or a toadstool. I have always called anything bright red and poisonous looking a toadstool, My colouring takes me back to my Enid Blyton, The folk of the Faraway Tree, childhood reading. So I decided to look this up and Google states that the term mushroom and toadstool are pretty interchangeable, they are both used to describe types of fungi. However the term toadstool tends to be used when the fungus is one that is poisonous and therefore inedible. I think my toadstool looks pretty inedible to me!
I then highlighted my images with Prismacolor pencils to add some shading (you can see this further down in my finished card).
I fussy cut them and then made a background using Hickory smoke and Candied apple distress ink sprays to create a smokey background for him to feel really relaxed in 😃
I stamped and cut out the words  and added glossy accents to make his glasses shine as well as his spots.
Here he is
with some close ups

Hmmmmm...I think any more relaxed and he would be falling off his toadstool!
And one last shot
I really love this new stamp set and I think he is going to go down a storm in the crafting world.
Pre release orders for all the Wonderland stamps and also 2 brand new stencils can be make now via the website here and for a short period of time there is a very generous multi bundle saving if you buy all 7 stamp sets.
