Free your imagination for Visible Image

 Hi everyone, it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Today I am using another of the 3 new stencils from their awesome new release. There are 3 new stencils and 6 new stamp sets which you can check out on the website here. I have made samples with each one and I have been sharing many of my makes over on Instagram so do check that out too. You can find me here @jane.tyrrell  Mine and my fellow DT teamies samples are also being shared by Visible Image over on their social media pages. The links are at the bottom of this post.

For today's make I used the gorgeous A-Z stencil

with their amazing Free your imagination stamp set to create a Halloween seasonal canvas.

This is what I got up to ; (I actually made several backgrounds in the same way. It's always good to have spares ready made).  I used some inky backgrounds from my stash, put the A-Z stencil in place and blended through Black soot Distress ink
These were all 4
and below is the one I chose to use.
I stamped the inky bird from  Free your imagination using Versafine clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed the image.
I stamped the book onto white card and added some purple drips using the drips stamp in the set. I also stamped the ink pot from the set and added some purple ink detail using a purple glitter gel pen. I cut both out.
I stamped the book again onto my background for placement and then added the cut out one. I stuck the cut out ink pot in place.
I stamped the sentiment and blended some extra purple to the edges of my canvas using Villainous potion distress ink.
Finally I distressed the edges of my canvas using my distressing tool. It adds some extra texture and interest to the background and is a technique I have always loved to use in my crafting.

I matted it onto white and then black card and for a finishing touch added a few white gel pen details.
Here is my finished canvas

Branching out for Visible Image

Hello it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Today I am using one of the 3 new stencils from their awesome new release.

For today's make I used the gorgeous Branch out stencil. This is perfect for stand alone projects or for using with their gorgeous stamps too.

I also used the sentiment from the Totally toadstools stamp set

I decided to make an autumnal canvas and this is what I got  up to;

I used an 6 X 8" piece of  heavy weight smooth card for my project. I mixed some Deco Art crackle paint with gathered twigs distress re-inker to get a light brown colour.

which I then applied through the stencil, lifted off and left to dry.
Once thoroughly dry I added a circle of squeezed lemonade distress ink for the sun and then worked from light to dark adding 3 shades of green distress ink.
I also created some hills using a hill template and vintage photo distress ink. (You can use torn paper to do this with too).
I then put a piece of scrap paper to protect the sun and flicked on some drips of water. You will see the effect in the final photos.
I used vintage photo ink and a small brush to stencil the single crow and the flying flock (seen in the final photos).
I stamped the words from the Totally toadstools stamp set under the tree roots and matted and layered my canvas.
Here is my finished canvas;
with a couple of close ups;

Such a powerful sentiment with the single crackled tree.

Time flies

Happy Monday welcome to a new week and my latest design team post for Visible Image. The 9 new stencils were released on Friday and are for sale now on their website and from stockists worldwide. Today I am sharing my first make with the very appropriately named new stencil
 I must admit time really is flying by and we find ourselves in the last 10 days of July. This new stencil comes with the mask of the bird too so you have 2 ways of using it. The words and bird can be also be used separately by masking them off but I thought that for a first make I would use the whole stencil to make a really bold canvas.

This is what I got up to.
I sprayed a mix of antique lines, vintage photos and ground espresso distress stain sprays onto watercolour card.
I then added Prima rust effect paste through the bird part of the stencil including the little birds above the letters I and E.
I used gold embossing paste through the "time flies" words on the stencil.
Once everything was dry I added some shadows under the letters using a Vintage photo distress marker.

and I finished off with some splatters of gold ink.
Here is my finished piece
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot.
I would like to enter my canvas into the following challenges;

Crafters' castle 1/3 anything goes
Crafty friends 1/3 anything goes
A gem of a challenge 1/3 anything goes
Simon says stamp Monday early birds
A bit more time to craft 1/3 anything goes
Through the dark room door 1/3 anything goes
We love 2 create 1/3 anything mixed media
