A whisky drink.....

Good morning I am here today with my latest blogged design team make for Visible Image. Unless you have been living under a log you will know the awesome March new release went live on Friday. The night before they had a Live launch party on their YouTube channel which was so much fun. If you missed it live do check it out on catch up as all the design team samples, including mine were shown up close and personal. There are 6 smaller A7 size stamp sets and 3 A6 size with coordinating dies in this release.

Today I am sharing a step by step of  how I made my sample using the brilliant Splash of whisky set available here with its coordinating dies available here
I teamed it with the framed fibres die
I had the idea to make a log cabin wall with a "window" on which to rest the whisky glass and bottle. Think deep dark woods in Scotland and open fires...yes this is where my imagination wandered off to!

This is what I got up to; I die cut the fibres from a piece of inky card.
I also die cut an aperture into a rectangle of kraft card and repeat stamped the log from the set to make a "wall"

I added black card underneath
and then slotted in the coloured fibres die cut. I stamped both sentiments onto white card and added brads to the bottom one.

I stamped and die cut out the bottle which I coloured using distress pencils
adding some white pen details and gold to the top.
I stamped and die cut the glass with the ice cube stamped inside and I also stamped and die cut several lemon peel twists and ice cubes. I added glossy accents to the glass and ice cubes which you will see in the final photos.
I coloured the peel with distress pencils.
I had the idea to poke the peel into the fibres die cut.
Then I put everything together and adhered it to a black card blank.

Here is my finished card.
with a couple of close ups
you can see the glass shining with glossy accents below
and 1 final shot;
It really is a brilliant set and a perfect final addition to the unique and amazing Visible Image drinks cabinet.  It is also perfect for those always hard to make male cards.   You now have gin, wine, champagne, beer, cocktails and whisky sets to choose from. And all of them have coordinating dies.

Another male birthday card for Country View Challenges

Hello this is my 2nd make for March for Country View challenges. The theme for this month is to make a masculine birthday card. You can enter a maximum of 5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges, including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00 I have added some live links within my post to take you to some of the products I used.

For this card I decided to use the Visible Image Ride the wind set

with the birthday sentiment from You're a classic (not in stock at the moment but it is on order. If you message CVC Susan can tell you when they are in)

I also used the brilliant Off the grid stencil.

This is what I got up to; I used a piece of inky mop up card from my stash and placed the off the grid stencil over it. I moved the stencil around and added various distress inks including lumberjack plaid through different parts of it.
until I was happy with the background,
I then stamped the bike and skid mark from Ride the wind onto the background and stamped the bike again onto white card. This 2nd image I coloured and cut out.
I then stuck the coloured image on top.
I stamped the sentiment above the bike.
I also stamped the birthday sentiment from You're a classic (out of stock at the moment) onto white card. I then matted everything up and stuck it to a white square card blank.
Here is my finished card,
with a close up,
and one final shot.
I hope I may have inspired you to join in with the challenge this month? Once again here you can find all the details for our March challenge here.

Bye for now,

Time for cocktails and the new March Visible image release

I am excited today to be blogging my first design team make with the brand new Visible Image March release. There are three fab new A6 stamp sets with coordinating dies and six A7 sets. Pre orders opened on the website on Friday for worldwide release on Friday 24th March. You can see them all here.

I am sharing my first make with the awesome new "Cocktails and dreams " stamp set. And yes if you're not a fussy cutter you can purchase the co ordinating dies here.

I am so delighted to see this set added to the Visible Image drinks cabinet. There are so many fun stamps in the set...3 different glasses to choose from, no less than 6 fruit elements, a straw, cocktail umbrella and an ice cube. There are coordinating dies for all of these...a real game changer for those people who dislike fussy cutting. I love fussy cutting but these dies really do speed everything up.

This is what I got up to; I sprayed a rainbow of distress oxide sprays across a piece of white card, adding some water and allowing the inks to drip down. I then I left it to dry.

I stamped and die cut all 3 glasses, the umbrella, some of the fruit, a straw, some ice cubes and coloured them all with distress pencils.
I stamped the sentiment in black versafine and clear embossed, adding part onto a piece of white card which I cut out and the rest underneath, directly on the background.

While I was making this card I also made up lots of other cocktails for other cards. This is such fun to do. I added glossy accents to the glasses. Some fruits I stamped directly and others I used the dies. It's also fun to cut into the lemon slice and "sit" it on the rims of the glasses.
I added the umbrella to the middle glass and I slice of lemon to finish off my card.

Cocktails anyone?

Daffodils for St David's day and Mother's day

Hello all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Their new February release has really taken the crafting world by storm and shhhh there is more to come later in March 😀

Mother's day in the UK is on 19th March and as today is St David's day I thought it would work perfectly to share a step by step of my Mother's day sample I made using the gorgeous Golden daffodils set

with an aperture made using the Broken mesh layering die.

Right from the first day I designed some samples using the gorgeous layering dies I discovered that the apertures left when die cutting the shape are as useful as the die cuts themselves. I have shared lots of makes over the last year using all 3 of them.

This is what I got up to;

I used the Broken mesh die to cut an aperture in a piece of 4 3/4 by 6 3/4" turquoise card.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom in black and clear heat embossed.

I found a piece of left over Brushos card from my stash

and stamped the daffodils .
I lined this up behind the aperture and cut to size.

I repeat stamped just the daffodil heads and the single daffodil in the set onto some yellow inky mop up card and cut them out, adding some gold pen detailing and glossy accents. You can see this in the final photos.

I stuck the heads over the stamped ones and added 3 single daffodils, 1 at the top and 2 at the bottom of the card. I added some gold sequins as a finishing touch.

I then adhered the finished panel to a 5X7" white card blank.
Here is my finished card
with a couple of close ups

The show is running the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th March. We had such fun last year.  I will have all the new release with me plus more. Susan will have a fab stock of Visible Image stamps, stencils and the layering dies on the stand.
