Something "Magical" for Visible Image.

 

For my latest fortnightly Visible Image design team project, our theme was MAGICAL — and I had great fun creating this colourful little fantasy scene.

I used The Caterpillar stamp set, together with a sentiment from Stay Weird.. I thought the sentiment was perfect for this quirky little character sitting happily on his giant toadstall!

I created the vibrant background using Distress Stain Sprays and adding some extra splatters of water to give it a little extra texture and a magical, slightly dreamy feel. Once dry I stamped the toadstool in place using Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and coloured it with Distress watercolour pencils.

 I added the white spots using a white Posca pen.

I stamped the caterpillar onto white card, clear heat embossed and cut him out. Using Distress Watercolour Pencils I added adding lots of bright colour to make him really stand out against the background. 

I stamped the sentiment onto some inky mop up card and cut around it to create a cloud. I also cut a couple of other little clouds by hand. These added some dimension by layering the clouds and caterpillar.

The finishing touch was some glossy accent on his glasses so that they reflect like a real pair. 

I love how colourful and whimsical this card turned out. Sometimes it's fun to step away from traditional card making and create a little world of your own. I hope this gives you some inspiration to get out your stamps and inks and create something magical?

You are my sunshine

Hi everyone! It’s time for my fortnightly Design Team make for Visible Image.

After the wonderful, sunshine-filled summer I’ve enjoyed, I wanted to create a card that captured some of those happy summer memories. For this card, I chose the Sunflower Grunge stamp set.

I wanted to give the card a slightly retro, summery feel, so I used kraft card and my Prismacolor pencils. I repeat stamped the Sunflower head around the edge of the card in dark brown ink and clear heat embossed the images. I stamped a single sunflower with leaves in the centre. I also stamped the sentiment at the top (seen in later photos)

I selected my pencils

and then started adding the colour. 

I used the lightest yellows first and moved up through the shades then blended in some orange. 

I also added some white highlights. 

Once I had coloured all the flower heads  I added shades of green to the leaves using the same process. 

  I matted the finished card front onto a piece of yellow card and then a kraft card blank. I added some sequins as a finishing touch.

The finished card really does remind me of those oh-so-sunny summer days of 2026 – a little bit of sunshine captured on a card! 🌻☀️

A Visible Image afternoon tea in the garden.

For my fortnightly Design Team make for Visible Image I couldn't resist creating a charming afternoon tea scene using the beautiful Afternoon Tea stamp set together with the Puzzle Stencil. The stencil creates the perfect patterned tablecloth, while the stamps cleverly capture the moment of tea being poured into delicate china cups. I decided to set my afternoon tea outdoors on a glorious summer's day, with blue skies and fresh green grass created using Distress Inks.

Here is how it came together. 

I cut a panel of smooth pink cardstock to fit the bottom part of the card. I placed the Puzzle Stencil over the cardstock and blended picked raspberry Distress Ink through the stencil to create a patterned tablecloth. 

I cut a scallop for the "drape" of the tablecloth

and then stamped one of the sentiments and some flower detailing. 

I created the garden background using blue distress sprays in the upper part of the card to create a bright summer sky.

Mowed Lawn ink from the pad was blended along the bottom edge to create soft grass.

I stamped the teapot and 3 teacups from the Afternoon Tea stamp set onto smooth white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne. I clear heat embossed the images and then cut them out.

Rather than cut out the tiny cup handles I added some blue distress ink in the gap so that they blended into the sky. I also added gold detailing to the china using gold glitter pen.

I set out the placement for the tea pot and cups and added the fun "pouring" and "splash" details using brown  ink.

I then adhered the stencilled tablecloth onto my background before arranging the teapot and cups on top. I raised the teapot with foam pads to add depth and dimension.

Finally I stamped the Afternoon tea sentiment at the top

and then matted onto pink card and a 5X7" white card blank.

This stamp set is so versatile. Whether you're creating cards for birthdays, thank yous, invitations or simply celebrating friendship, it's full of charming images that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. I loved how my card turned out. It has such a cheerful, summery feel and reminds me of enjoying afternoon tea in the garden with friends.

Christmas Artist trading cards

  Hi Everyone. It's time for my fortnightly design team make for Visible Image. Today I am sharing a set of artist trading card using the gorgeous  Across the miles stamp set from the brand new 2026 Christmas release.

 I've created a set of three festive Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). Measuring just 2.5 x 3.5 inches, they're the perfect little canvases for creating miniature Christmas scenes.

The backgrounds are made from pieces of Distress Stain Spray cardstock left over from previous projects in my stash – a great way to make use of those colourful offcuts. 

I stamped the Dear Santa sentiment and a postmark at the top of each ATC 

I stamped the adorable robins onto white card. The charming post box was partially stamped onto scraps of red cardstock, so you don't even need a full sheet of card. I also stamped up the postal times plate onto a scrap of white card and layered it up.  The robins were coloured with Distress Watercolour Pencils and then fussy cut.

I adhered the post box first before adding the robins and the tiny letters. By tucking the letter beneath the robin's foot really brings each miniature scene to life!

On the reverse, I used the Love of ATCs stamp set. 

I organise an ATC swap in the Visible Image Fans Facebook group, so one of these little creations will soon be making its way to my swap partner. ATCs are such fun to exchange with fellow crafters and also make lovely keepsakes to attach to Christmas gifts.

The Across the Miles  stamp set is such a versatile addition to the new release, making it perfect for everything from cards and mixed media projects to festive ATCs. I hope I've inspired you to have a go at creating some miniature Christmas art of your own!
