Wintery backgrounds for our January Country View Crafts challenge

 Hi everyone, today I am sharing my first design team make for our new challenge over in the Country View Crafts and challenges group on Facebook. The theme for January is "wintry scenes" You don't need a blog or an Instagram account, just head over to the group and join in with the fun! The link is Here and if you are not already a member just request to join and we will warmly welcome you. It is also be a place you can be the first to hear about workshops, the latest releases etc etc. We have a happy membership of over 350 crafters and we are growing every day. You can enter the challenges up to 5 times as you like as long as you use products or brands which are stocked on the Country View Website.

This is the first of my 2 DT makes for this month, a wintry background birthday card I made for my husband's January birthday.

I used Tim Holtz products for the background and colouring and Visible Image stamps. I will add some links to the products which are in stock on the website in this post.

Here is my tutorial of how my card came together.
I first sprayed a wintry mix of distress mica stains (currently out of stock but Susan can order in if you email her) with lost shadow distress oxide spray  onto black card.

I then die cut a Tim Holtz "moon" using his moonlight set.

I added some dimension using lost shadow and pumice stone distress inks and then flicking on some water.

I also die cut some wintry trees using an ancient die from my stash. Susan has a substitute wintry tree you could use here

I then stamped the Visible Image Night owl using Versafine Clair Nocturne and clear heat embossed. I fussy cut it out and coloured using distress pencils.

I stamped the birthday sentiment using the Visible Image Go to words set.

Then I put my wintry scene together sticking everything down with Cosmic shimmer glue

I added some Tim Holtz die cut gold stars as a finishing touch.

Here is my finished card once more.

with a final close up.

Remember you can find me most days over on Instagram Here @jane.tyrrell where I share many, many more makes then I have the time to blog.

I hope I may have inspired you to give our "wintry scenes" challenge a go. There is a fab prize up for grabs too for one randomly selected and you can enter up to 5 times!

I will be back with my 2nd DT make on the 25th.

Bye for now,

Another "get" wordy" make for our January CVC challenge

Good morning. I am here with my 2nd design team make for our January "Get wordy" challenge over in the Country View Crafts  Challenges Facebook group.  I am this host this month and I would like to see a sentiment or some words on your entries. You can enter up to 5 times as you like as long as you use products or brands which are stocked on the Country View Website.

 The monthly challenges are now being hosted over on Facebook as it makes it easier for everyone who wants to enter, to do so. You don't need a blog or an Instagram account, just head over to the group and join in with the fun! The link is here and if you are not already a member just request to join and we will love to welcome you over there. It will also be a place you can see Country View Craft products, the latest releases etc etc. We have a happy membership of over 260 crafters already and we are growing every day.

I try to link up the products I use in my posts but obviously stock on the CVC website sells out quickly . Some may be out of stock when you click on the links. If they are just fill in the email notification and you will be emailed when they are back in stock. This is the link to the website .

I decided to use the beautiful Visible Image "A friend like you" stamp set which is available here. It has  gorgeous images and very positive words in it.

This is what I got up to;

I used a distress ink marbled shaving foam background from my stash and die cut an oval. I then cut a piece of blue card for underneath.

I stamped and clear heat embossed the words at the top and bottom of the aperture

I then positioned the aperture and stamped the flower and vase on the blue card.

I stamped the flower head a 2nd time onto inky mop up card and cut it out.

Then I simply put the card together and decoupaged the flower head on top.  I added some die cut stars and white gel pen accents as finishing details.

Here is the finished card again.

with a couple of close ups

and one final shot;

I really hope that I may have inspired you to join in with the "Get wordy" fun. Do head over to the challenge on Facebook here.  Below is the amazing prize for one randomly selected winner. It's a fab bundle of "words" stamps and chipboard words by Visible Image, Tracy Easson and 49 and Market all perfect for your 2024 crafting.

Remember you can find me most days over on Instagram here @jane.tyrrell where I do share many, many more makes then I have the time to blog.

And just to show how I don't waste anything I was able to make a 2nd card for Dotty's with the left over die cut!

As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

For this birthday card I decided to go floral and used the gorgeous Visible Image Daisy Grunge stamp set

 with the bee-autiful Bee Happy set.

and the birthday sentiment from Lost for words

This is what I got up to;

 I made a background using saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner distress inks.

I stamped Daisy grunge and the bees in place and clear heat embossed them.

I painted the leaves with a little extra saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner ink.
I coloured the bees with gold gel pen and the daisy centre with blue glitter pen. I finished off with some glossy accents to the centre of the daisy and some sequins.

 Here is my finished card;
with a close up of the lovely Daisy and bees.

When I shared my first make on 1st June I mentioned that I had quite a lot of die cut stars left over. I decided to use them for my 2nd design team make today.

I

This is what I got up to ;
I stamped the Congrats sentiment from Visible Image's
Lost for words sentiment set
onto a piece of white card using Black ink and clear heat embossed it.
I had a play with placement of my die cut stars and then glued them in place.

I added a few sequins too for extra detail. I then matted it onto navy blue card and onto a 5X7" card blank.  A nice quick and very clean and simple (for me!) make.

Here is my finished card;
