Creative stamping Magazine issue 92

Hi blogging friends I thought I would just pop in and share my latest magazine design team commission for Creative Stamping magazine. Issue 92 of Creative Stamping goes on sale in the shops today. The 2 sets of stamps which come with this issue are just perfect for sporty peeps and for cards/projects for younger adults, which are often quite hard to design for. Also the sentiments in the A4 set are really inspiring.

Obviously I can't share all my makes here...you would need to buy the magazine of course 😉 but this is my racing card card which you can spot in the bottom left corner of the cover.

This is my own photo of the card

As always  I made an extra card or 2 using the stamps and this is a sneak peek of my son's birthday card for next month. The background was made with distress inks. He is an avid tennis player and fitness fan and the stamps were perfect to use. 

Here are some close ups of the very cool stamps, I even coloured the trainers to match the ones he has!

Creative stamping magazine issue #86

I am delighted to be in print again in the latest edition of Creative Stamping magazine. Issue #86

I have a 3 project mixed media cards feature using the gorgeous set of stamps which comes with the magazine called "By the water".

 and the fab RSPB kingfisher die and stamp combo which comes with this edition.

These are 2 of my cards which have already be shown on social media so I can share them here. Due to all the Covid19 pandemic restrictions this edition is late out and one of my makes was for Father's day...but this can be some inspiration for next year! This is the magazine's photo..

 It's a rocker card and full instructions of how to make it are in the magazine.

However I always make a few extra cards with the stamps so here is a bonus card I can share here.

I made the background with brushos and infusions. 

This edition is on sale now in supermarkets, W H Smith or on line. This is one of the on line sales links . I am sure it will be very popular as the stamps are brilliant and also perfect for masculine makes. Don't leave it too long if you would like a copy as some editions do completely sell out. As they say, when it's gone it's gone!

Creative Stamping Magazine, a double appearance in Issue #83

I am delighted to appear in two features in this month's Creative Stamping Magazine which is for sale now.  I have a 5 card commission as part of the magazine design team and I also appear in a feature showcasing for Visible Image stamps.  I was delighted to get my copy  in the post this week, it really is a bumper one and I admit it is always a thrill to see your own work in print, especially as a double appearance. It came at a good time too and cheered me up after such a tough week.

I am only obviously only allowed to share the "official" photos here and on social media to comply with copyright restrictions. 

I can't share the rest of my makes here, you would need to buy a copy of the magazine 😀,but I thought I would share one of the "extra" makes I made for myself using the stamps. When I am designing I make several cards and designs and often have one or two that I don't use and are not sent in for publication. 

Below is one of them where I used the gorgeous free owl stamp and some of the branches together with the Happy Birthday stamp.

The background is distress oxides on specialty stamping paper and the circle insert is coloured using  Infusions. I stamped the owl onto card, coloured him in and then raised him up with foam fixers. I continued stamping the branches into the inner circle to add to the depth of the card.

Designing for Creative Stamping magazine

If you follow me on Instagram (@jane.tyrrell or there is a link in my side bar) you may have seen my post on Sunday sharing my very exciting news, which I have been sitting on for a few months now. I was invited by Creative Stamping Magazine to join their design team and Issue #78 which goes on sale this Thursday 7th November will feature my first commission. Not only that but I am a cover girl

with my snowy cabin rocker card. 

 My makes use stamps from the free set which come with this edition. It is called wild winter.

They are such a super set and can be used not just for Christmas but for winter birthdays or greetings cards.

I made 4 male themed cards and obviously you will need to buy the magazine if you would like to see them.  They all have full step by step instructions of how to make them.

However in addition to the 4 cards I made for the magazine I also made a couple of extras which I will to share here on my blog.

Today I will share my Polar Bear and penguin Christmas card, I will share the other make soon. 

I used zig watercolour makers to colour all my stamped images.

 I made an inky background from spray inks.

There is also a super iceberg stamp which I stamped 2 of the sentiments on to. I cut out my elements and added a couple of die cut stars,

Into the woods

No I'm not going into the real woods today but into my imagination courtesy of my Design team card today for Visible Image.

Last year I had several projects published and I have not had a chance to share some of them.

This card was made for the fab Creative Stamping magazine and we were give a purple/blue colour way to work with.

I wanted to create a real journey "into the woods" so I made a card which had layers like an old fashioned peep through card which you can still sometimes see in toy museums. The top layer was an acetate "window".

This is the stamp set I worked with.

Into the woods

This is a lovely big A5 size stamp set and I used all the elements and 6 of the words. 

First I created the base background.

I worked with Peacock feathers, stormy skies, dusty concord, seedless preserves and picked raspberry distress ink blending them around a masked moon.

 I then stamped the "background" tree line using faded jeans distress oxide ink

Then I over stamped with the foreground tree line using wilted violet distress oxide.

I also stamped and embossed the foreground trees using white glittery powder onto acetate to make my "window".

I removed the moon masked, stamped one to the owls and added some crackle paint and left it to dry.

For the "raised" box part of the card I used distress re inkers and dribbled them down some card stock. I then stamped"branches" using the large single tree.

I also tore and pulled back the inside aperture. The acetate tree line "window" was stuck underneath. 

I then stamped and cut out the words and put together my peep through scene.

 This sideways shot shows the depth of my card and the layers I created.
