Footsteps in the sand, 10 years on

Hello everyone I am back with my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's make I am sharing a step by step of the card I made for my daughter and son in laws recent wedding anniversary. As it was a special one, their 10th, I decided to make something very detailed and meaningful to them.

They live at the seaside and spend a lot of time here.

 I decided to make a circle easel card and I knew exactly which Visible Image products would be perfect.

At the beach

the sentiment from Happy anniversary
Plus 2 stencils

The always versatile
Framed fibres layering die (for extra textured waves).
And finally for the number 10, I stamped the numbers from the White rabbit set

 and used their co ordinating dies to cut them out.
This is what I got up to;

I inked 2 circles of card using these seaside coloured distress stain sprays.

I then inked the Always and forever stencil onto the top of the card using distress ink,

It creates such a romantic image.
Once dry I white heat embossed the waves from Ride the waves

On the bottom part of the card I stencilled the small footprints from Sandy feet using texture paste
I cut off the tip of the card to accommodate the fold in the circle easel card blank. I make my own, there are lots of on line tutorials elsewhere for how to do this.
I stamped some of the At the beach shells in brown ink onto inky mop up card and cut them out. I also stamped the sentiment from  Happy anniversary and added foam fixers underneath to raise it to hold the top part of the card in place when stood up.
I added pieces of card die cut using the Framed fibres layering die and stuck them in place to represent the waves lapping at the footprints in the sand.
I glued all the elements in place

and for a cool watery sea effect I decided to use glossy accents and glamour dust glitter to give a shimmer to the waves and around the sandy footprints.
This is how it looked when dry,
Here is my finished card
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot
You could of course adapt either part of my easel design to make a single flat card. However, all these extra details really do make for a different card and are worth the effort for those special people in your life. My card was very loved and appreciated by my daughter and SIL.

The sun always shines

Today it is time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. Gosh what a heatwave we have experienced in the UK. The temperature reached the dizzy heights of 38c here in south east England  but today it is forecast to cloud over a little and cool down, thank goodness. I do love the heat but only when I am holiday with air con and a pool or the sea to dip in! For today's make I have used one of my favourite summer Visible Image stamp sets;

Rise and shine

with the incredibly useful and versatile background stamp

 If you click on any of my links they will take you to the website.

This is what I got up to; I made a background on Daylor Rowney mixed media card using twisted citron, crushed olive and the new colour uncharted mariner, distress stain sprays and then cut it down to fit a 5X7" card blank.

Using fossilized amber distress glaze and embossing ink I heat embossed the Grunge flourish around the edges.
I love the translucency of these glazes.
I stamped the large sun from Rise and shine onto a scrap of inky mop up card and cut it out. This is such an easy stamp to fussy cut. I also stamped the sentiment onto white card, cut around it and then matted it onto black card. (You can see this in the final photos). I added some orange glitter and white pen details.
Using wild honey distress archival ink I stamped the small sun and bubbles from the set
and blended a little extra uncharted mariner ink to the edges.
I put my design together and adhered it to the background. I added glossy accents to some of the circles as a finishing touch and then let everything dry.
Here is my finished card

The heat is on

Wow the temperatures have certainly hotted up here in the south east of England. Yesterday was 36c and today we could break the all time record of 38.5c....phew!
My garden flowers are loving all this heat and sunshine especially my sunflower..how aptly named.
The bold colours in my pots also reflect the heat of the summer
It registered 38c on my sunny patio when I got home yesterday from a visit to Bird World
I think this pig at Birdworld had the best idea of the day!
It is also wedding season; we have family one in August so I decided to make some new stock of wedding cards for Dotty's Teahouse where my cards are sold. Here is one of them.
I used some glittery die cuts and a stamped sentiment.
a little close up of the stamped Lili of the Valley sentiment which I accented with gold pen.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Addicted to stamps and More anything goes
Die cut Divas July anything goes
Crafting by designs 1/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes

Today is also rather special as it mine and my darling Hb's 38th Wedding anniversary. We will be celebrating and raising a glass of something bubbly.  We will find some shade as we celebrate. I will share the card I made for my Hb on Monday.

If you have this heat where you are keep cool.

Cheers!

Back soon,

Bye for now,
