A new destination with Visible Image

Hello everyone it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image.  Today I am sharing a step by step of a special birthday card I have made for my dear son who is 35 years young on 24th February. He is such an amazing person and despite so many hurdles has just finished renovating his new home and will be moving in very soon.  I love the Destination unknown set and it is brilliant for male cards so that's what I used. The card is larger A5 size which I love using for special family cards.

I used it with the map stamp from Scripted streets

 a sentiment and the stars from the Birthday wishes set
 I die cut an aperture using the Broken mesh layering die
and also used the Lava stencil to create the Earth ( it works well for moons too!)

This is what I got up to;

I made an inky background on mixed media card using these distress oxide and stain sprays.

I die cut an aperture using the mesh die (you then have a very useful layering die cut for another project). I love using the dies for apertures and I have shared several previous projects here before.

I repeat stamped the map using grey ink on a piece of white card

and added this underneath the aperture.

Using a small circle die cut from my stash I made "Earth" using blue distress inks

To give some extra dimension I added some more blueprint sketch ink through the Lava stencil. I have also used this stencil to make a moon in the past using grey ink. It's a very useful stencil to have in your stash.

I stamped Happy birthday in the centre using Nocturne Versafine Claire ink and clear heat embossed ( as I did with the other sentiments I added)

I stamped some of the words from Destination Unknown at the top and bottom of the card. I also added some star stamping (from the Birthday wishes set) all around the background using orange Versafine Claire ink

Next I stamped some of the planes and boats from the set using blue ink, clear heat embossed them and cut them out with scissors.

Then it was time to put everything together adding some white pen accents for a finishing touch. I also added some black soot distress ink the edges.  I stuck the background to a black card blank made by folding an A4 sheet of 300gsm of black card in half.

Here is my finished card;

and 1 final shot.

Go where you dreams take you.....

Good morning all and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. It's that time of year when Christmas is long past and spring still seems a long way away. I am not a person who ever makes new year resolutions, as we have no idea what is ahead and our life journey often changes direction in a heartbeat. For good or bad one thing in life which is absolutely certain is change. We can still have dreams and we need to keep actively seeking them, even if they need to change a little along the way. To use my creativity to put my feelings into a card, my make today uses the awesome "Where dreams take you".  This set is in my top 5 all time favourites by Visible Image and one of 3 sets which has a version of their iconic eye stamp. The other 2 sets being 2020 vision and See everything.

I used it with the Seeing stars stencil

This is what I got up to; I used a rainbow of distress oxide sprays to make a drippy background, leaving a lot of white space. I then turned it sideways. I cut it down to 4 1/2" by 6 1/2"

I stamped the eye in Versafine clair Nocturne and clear heat embossed

I added the sentiment in the same way on the bottom left.

I took the Seeing stars stencil and using Lumberjack plaid distress ink and a blending sponge added ink through the stars part of the stencil to random areas of the background, avoiding the white of the eye.

I added blue glitter pen to the iris

and finally added glossy accents to the whole eye area. Once dry I matted my card onto black card and then a 5" by 7" white card blank.

Here is my finished card;
with a couple of close ups

and 1 final shot;

Another "get" wordy" make for our January CVC challenge

Good morning. I am here with my 2nd design team make for our January "Get wordy" challenge over in the Country View Crafts  Challenges Facebook group.  I am this host this month and I would like to see a sentiment or some words on your entries. You can enter up to 5 times as you like as long as you use products or brands which are stocked on the Country View Website.

 The monthly challenges are now being hosted over on Facebook as it makes it easier for everyone who wants to enter, to do so. You don't need a blog or an Instagram account, just head over to the group and join in with the fun! The link is here and if you are not already a member just request to join and we will love to welcome you over there. It will also be a place you can see Country View Craft products, the latest releases etc etc. We have a happy membership of over 260 crafters already and we are growing every day.

I try to link up the products I use in my posts but obviously stock on the CVC website sells out quickly . Some may be out of stock when you click on the links. If they are just fill in the email notification and you will be emailed when they are back in stock. This is the link to the website .

I decided to use the beautiful Visible Image "A friend like you" stamp set which is available here. It has  gorgeous images and very positive words in it.

This is what I got up to;

I used a distress ink marbled shaving foam background from my stash and die cut an oval. I then cut a piece of blue card for underneath.

I stamped and clear heat embossed the words at the top and bottom of the aperture

I then positioned the aperture and stamped the flower and vase on the blue card.

I stamped the flower head a 2nd time onto inky mop up card and cut it out.

Then I simply put the card together and decoupaged the flower head on top.  I added some die cut stars and white gel pen accents as finishing details.

Here is the finished card again.

and one final shot;

I really hope that I may have inspired you to join in with the "Get wordy" fun. Do head over to the challenge on Facebook here.  Below is the amazing prize for one randomly selected winner. It's a fab bundle of "words" stamps and chipboard words by Visible Image, Tracy Easson and 49 and Market all perfect for your 2024 crafting.

Remember you can find me most days over on Instagram here @jane.tyrrell where I do share many, many more makes then I have the time to blog.

And just to show how I don't waste anything I was able to make a 2nd card for Dotty's with the left over die cut!

A new year of design team inspiration for Visible Image

Good morning everyone and welcome to my first blog post of 2024.  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and new year and are now ready to think ahead to lots of creative enjoyment. This is my first design team make of the year for Visible Image and I decided to make a card with some positive thoughts for the year ahead. It's incredible that this will be my 7th year on their team. I love their products and am honoured to have been on their team as their longest serving design team member.

I used the brilliant No filter stamp set

 I also used a sentiment and the heart from the Affirmations set.

This is what I got up to;

I chose a background from my stash. This one was made using wilted violet, saltwater taffy, kitsch flamingo and broken china distress oxide sprays. I stamped the no filter face in black Versafine ink and clear embossed it

I then stamped the heart and a sentiment from the Affirmations set and also used 3 of the hashtags from the No filter set.

I added some colours in the hair and to the eyelids and lips

using glitter pens.

I coloured the hearts using distress pencils.

I then added some kitsch flamingo distress oxide shading to the face and matted onto black card and finally a 5X7" white card blank. I also added some white gel pen details which you can see on the final photos.

Here is my finished card;

with some close ups

and 1 final shot.
