Happiness in a tin

Good morning, another fortnight has whizzed by and it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image.  As I am sure you are aware Visible Image have recently joined forces with Gemporia Craft offering new opportunities for collaboration and growth. There are such exciting time ahead with lots of new products in the pipeline. If you have not already seen the gorgeous new website do check it out here

The new release of fab stamps, coordinating dies and stencils is going down a storm. Today I am sharing 2 of my trademark art tins made to showcase the new

Create Happiness stamp set

and its coordinating dies

with the new Fragments stencil.

I call them "Happiness in a tin".

If you need the measurements etc do check out this post. I have shared this information many times over the years.

This is how I made my new labels;

I repeat stamped the flower along the edges

I also stamped the flower in the centre and the sentiment on each side as shown below. I used these distress inks

and the fragments stencil to then add colour over the images. I avoided the flowers but you don't need to be too precise as the flowers either get coloured or decoupaged.

Next I used these distress watercolour pencils to colour the blooms.

and added some extra stamping using the collage stamp in the set.
I stamped 2 flowers onto book pages and die cut them out.

I also stamped the flower twice more on white card and die cut out the centres using the 2nd die in the set. I removed these centres and  coloured them with pencils and added stuck them onto the book page flowers with foam tape to add some dimension.

I then adhered the labels to my tins.

Here they are finished;

and the pair together

with one last shot.

I have LOTS of these tins now. They are so useful for my brushes, pens, paintburshes and more They look so colourful on my craft desk too.  Here are a few....

Definitely happiness in a tin!

Today I am sharing a card made with 2 Visible Image stencils and the same sentiment I used to make my card I shared on the 15th here.

This is how I made it;

I used the Hearts ink and Graffiti stencils.

I stuck the heart mask in place using low tac tape then inked through the graffiti stencil. I used Lumberjack plaid and black soot distress inks.

I removed the mask and added the heart stencil and inked it up using lumberjack plaid distress ink

I made some heart embellishments using some hearts dies and the  Visible Image Ripped mesh layering die as an over lay.

I stamped the sentiment from Have I told you (out of stock at the moment) onto the base of the heart and then put my design together.

Here is my finished card again

with a close up

and 1 final shot.

I really hope that I may have inspired you to join in with the "love" fun. Do head over to the challenge on Facebook here.  One of the new Tim Holtz vault series die sets is the amazing prize for one randomly selected winner

I try to link up the products I use in my posts but obviously stock on the CVC website is fluid and some products may now be out of stock. If they are just email or phone the shop. Susan will be happy to help you.

For my first love make I chose to make this card;

This is how I made it;

I sprayed some white card with Candied apple distress stain spray and cut it down to 4 1/2" by 6 1/2" This stain spray is not in stock at the moment but this colour would work well too (or any other colour you fancy!).

I then used the Visible Image always and forever stencil.

It comes with the mask as well, which I positioned  fairly centrally.

Using Black soot distress ink and an ink blending tool and added ink around the mask part. I also added a little Lumberjack plaid distress ink to a few areas.

I used 2 of the sentiments from the Visible Image "Have I told you lately" sentiment set
which I stamped in versafine clair nocturne. It's not in stock at the moment but can be ordered. I also stamped some of the hearts from the set using tulip red Versafine Claire ink

I then matted my make onto black card and then a white card blank.

Here it is again;

and 1 final shot;

New exciting products and news from Visible Image

Hi everyone it's time for my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image.  As I am sure you are aware Visible Image have recently joined forces with Gemporia Craft offering new opportunities for collaboration and growth. There are such exciting time ahead with lots of new products in the pipeline. If you have not seen the gorgeous new website do check it out here

And more exciting news is that the brand new release of fab stamps, coordinating dies and stencils was announced last Thursday. Myself and my teamies have been sharing our samples on social media over the last few days and Mark and Helen were on Hobbymaker TV with it last night. (you can watch that replay here)

 Do check them out. It is an brilliant range with something for everyone.

Today I am showcasing the new coordinating dies

for the ever popular "Blow out the candles" stamp set

If you don't have this set it really is a must have for your stash and I use so much. Now that it has coordinating dies, if you are not a fan of fussy cutting you can create dimensional cards with no scissors involved. I am also showcasing the brilliant brand new background stamp

 Grunge birthday background stamp

It makes such awesome and quick birthday backgrounds.

This is what I got up to;

 First I stamped the cake images onto white card using Versafine Claire Charming Pink ink on the cake "parts" and Acorn ink on the cases/plate of the stamps. I clear heat embossed them. Then I die cut them out using the co ordinating dies. These dies cut like butter and are so easy to use.

Next I stamped the candles using the same pink ink and Nocture black for the flames.

I also die cut them....they are such fun! I went mad and kept some for future makes.

I stamped 2 of the sentiments onto scraps of card and added brads at the ends.
The background was made using a rainbow of distress oxide spray inks.

I cut it down to a 5 1/2" square and then turned it upside down.

Using the birthday grunge background stamp and pink ink I repeat stamped over the whole background and clear embossed it. It made this very cool grungy background.

I coloured the cakes using a mix of distress watercolour pencils, gel pens and glitter pens.  Then it was time to assemble my design.  I added some Stickles glitter glue to give some sparkle to the icing on the cakes as a finishing touch. When dry I matted my card front onto pink card and then adhered to a white card blank.

Here is my finished card

with a couple of close ups

and 1 final shot.

These new dies really are a game changer and with this incredibly versatile new grunge words stamp making unique birthday cards is now quick and simple!
