Daisy Grunge in August for Country View Challenges

 Hello, I am back today with my 2nd design team post for Country View challenges to hopefully inspire you to join our current "birthday" challenge for July.  You can make anything you like using any products. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

For this birthday card I decided to go floral and used the gorgeous Visible Image Daisy Grunge stamp set

 with the bee-autiful Bee Happy set.

and the birthday sentiment from Lost for words

This is what I got up to;

 I made a background using saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner distress inks.

I stamped Daisy grunge and the bees in place and clear heat embossed them.

I painted the leaves with a little extra saltwater taffy and uncharted mariner ink.
I coloured the bees with gold gel pen and the daisy centre with blue glitter pen. I finished off with some glossy accents to the centre of the daisy and some sequins.

 Here is my finished card;
with a close up of the lovely Daisy and bees.

I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our August challenge. You can use any stamps products, the choice is yours.
 Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00

Once again you can find all the details for our August challenge here.

I would love to see you over on Instagram where I share new creative makes nearly every day. This is my link/profile @jane.tyrrell
Sadly these days I just don't have the time to blog everything!

A little heads up that if you would like to see a version this card made in person and how to make the distress ink background, I will be demoing it and lots of other designs for Country View Crafts at the Stamperama Show at Bedford International athletic centre on Sunday 25th September. Here is a link for the details. Pop the date in your diary. I will share more of my demos and samples during the coming weeks.

Footsteps in the sand, 10 years on

Hello everyone I am back with my fortnightly blogged design team make for Visible Image. For today's make I am sharing a step by step of the card I made for my daughter and son in laws recent wedding anniversary. As it was a special one, their 10th, I decided to make something very detailed and meaningful to them.

They live at the seaside and spend a lot of time here.

 I decided to make a circle easel card and I knew exactly which Visible Image products would be perfect.

At the beach

the sentiment from Happy anniversary
Plus 2 stencils

The always versatile
Framed fibres layering die (for extra textured waves).
And finally for the number 10, I stamped the numbers from the White rabbit set

 and used their co ordinating dies to cut them out.
This is what I got up to;

I inked 2 circles of card using these seaside coloured distress stain sprays.

I then inked the Always and forever stencil onto the top of the card using distress ink,

It creates such a romantic image.
Once dry I white heat embossed the waves from Ride the waves

On the bottom part of the card I stencilled the small footprints from Sandy feet using texture paste
I cut off the tip of the card to accommodate the fold in the circle easel card blank. I make my own, there are lots of on line tutorials elsewhere for how to do this.
I stamped some of the At the beach shells in brown ink onto inky mop up card and cut them out. I also stamped the sentiment from  Happy anniversary and added foam fixers underneath to raise it to hold the top part of the card in place when stood up.
I added pieces of card die cut using the Framed fibres layering die and stuck them in place to represent the waves lapping at the footprints in the sand.
I glued all the elements in place

and for a cool watery sea effect I decided to use glossy accents and glamour dust glitter to give a shimmer to the waves and around the sandy footprints.
This is how it looked when dry,
Here is my finished card
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot
You could of course adapt either part of my easel design to make a single flat card. However, all these extra details really do make for a different card and are worth the effort for those special people in your life. My card was very loved and appreciated by my daughter and SIL.

All the Visible Image links are listed below;

August birthdays with Country View Challanges

Happy 1st August everyone. Summer is in full swing now and it's time for our new challenge over at Country View Challenges. Our theme this month is "Birthdays" so we would like to see you make a birthday card or gift using any products. You can enter a maximum of  5 times and into a maximum of 10 challenges including ours. As always there is a fab £20 voucher up for grabs for one lucky randomly selected winner to spend on the website.  You can find all the details of the challenge and more examples made by my talented teamies here.

 It's funny that in our family there are no August Birthdays so I made some new birthday cards for Dotty's instead and this is what I got up to. I used the following stamp set , Visible Image's Blow out the candles  This set is great for birthdays and has large cake, a cupcake, awesome candles and some brilliant birthday sentiments.

I used it with the fab ripples stencil

This is what I got up to;

I used a sheet of my shaving foam marbled card from my stash and added  picked raspberry distress ink through the ripples stencil

I stamped the large cake from Blow out the candles onto cream card in brown ink and then added a few layers by stamping onto other card using red ink. I paper pieced some of the icing and buttercream and some of the buttercream was coloured using gel and glitter pens. I always make batches of these as they are very useful to have at hand.
The set has 3 brilliant candles and a "glow" stamp which when stamped around the flames gives such a cool effect.
I added the cake underneath and stamped the sentiments in place.
I then added some Stickles glitter glue to the icing and a few sequins as a finishing touch.

Here is my finished card
with a close up
and one final shot.

I hope I may have inspired you to join in with our August "birthday" challenge. You can use any stamps/products, the choice is yours.

  Remember that when you buy from the Country View Crafts website UK postage is FREE on orders over £20.00

Once again here you can find all the details for our August challenge here.
