Brilliant brand new products from STAMPlorations

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing my latest STAMPlorations Design Team make, and I've gone full-on autumn with this one!

I'm using 3 new products today, first up is STAMPcuts Retro Gratitude. This is a pack of ready-to-use die-cut typography pieces featuring layered retro lettering in a warm, earthy palette

This little stamp packs a big punch. It brings together bits and pieces of vintage typography, handwriting, numbers, ink splatters, and printed ephemera in one beautifully distressed collage.

Maker's mark #1

This is a handmade-maker’s signature stamp set for adding that extra personal touch to your creations. Featuring a mix of handmade sentiments, including handmade with love, made especially for you, happy mail, and created with joy.

This is how my card came together;

I started by creating a rich, inky background using Distress Stain Sprays. I allowed the inks to run and added some extra drips too.  I love all the little drips, splatters and variations you get with these sprays — perfect for an autumn mixed-media look.

and rusty hinge distress ink I randomly stamped over the inky background. 

For my focal panel I used an ATC from the  Sweet autumn ATC set which brings in those softer florals and gorgeous seasonal colours. I teamed this with one of the fabulous  STAMPcuts Retro Gratitude sentiments. I chose “with gratitude”, which seemed just right for an autumnal card.

It was then time to put my design together. A scattering of sequins added the finishing touches and a little bit of sparkle.

I really enjoyed mixing the grungy inky background with the pretty florals and bold retro typography — lots of different elements, but I think they all work together beautifully.

And finally on the back of the card you can see how I used one of the phrases from the Maker's mark #1

Daisy days

Hi Everyone, this is my latest Visible Image Design Team make.

I've been having some colourful fun with the fabulous Daisy Days stamp set.

The starting point for this card was the background. I created a bright alcohol ink background on Yupo, letting the turquoise, pink, purple and yellow inks mingle and do their own thing. I always love the patterns and little details that alcohol inks create — no two backgrounds ever turn out quite the same! Using black Archival ink I added some of the text stamp in the background too.

 

With so much colour going on behind it, I decided to keep my daisy mostly black and white. I stamped and cut out the flower, adding just a touch of yellow before giving it a fun yellow button centre.

I repeat stamped the bubbles on a kraft tag stamped using distress oxide and embossed using the matching embossing glaze. I stamped the DAISY DAYS wording in pink and cut it out. 

 A piece of spotty purple ribbon finished it off.

I then put my design together, backing the Yupo background with purple glitter paper and mounting onto a kraft card base.

It's certainly a bright one! 🌼 Sometimes it's great fun to just play with colour and see where it takes you.

I hope it inspires you to get those inks out and have a colourful, inky play too!

A Perfect pairs Classic Christmas

Today I'm sharing my latest STAMPlorations Design Team project, featuring the Perfect Pairs Classic Christmas stamp set.

This is such a delightful concept, check them all out here. You get a 2 stamp set and co ordinating ephemera cuts so that card making is as quick and simple as you want it to be.

These are 2 cards I have previously made and shared a few week back here and on Instagram. 

For this make I wanted to create a Christmas card with a traditional feel using mixed media. I went for black, gold and red.

I used the Oh My Stars stencil to create the starry background,

 adding golden stencil paste through the stencil. 

I love how the gold really pops against the black background — definitely a Christmas card with a little bit of sparkle and drama! ✨

I used the vintage-style lantern in the pack adding a islet through the top

The Perfect Pairs Classic Christmas stamp set provided the Christmas definition panel, which I think works particularly well alongside the angel and lantern. I added ribbon to the lantern and some glitter glue to bring the traditional Christmas colours together.

I then added one of the beautiful STAMPlorations Christmas Angel die cut, which I cut from gold glitter paper.

A red card mat brought the festive colours together. Here it is once more

Something "Magical" for Visible Image.

 

For my latest fortnightly Visible Image design team project, our theme was MAGICAL — and I had great fun creating this colourful little fantasy scene.

I used The Caterpillar stamp set, together with a sentiment from Stay Weird.. I thought the sentiment was perfect for this quirky little character sitting happily on his giant toadstall!

I created the vibrant background using Distress Stain Sprays and adding some extra splatters of water to give it a little extra texture and a magical, slightly dreamy feel. Once dry I stamped the toadstool in place using Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and coloured it with Distress watercolour pencils.

 I added the white spots using a white Posca pen.

I stamped the caterpillar onto white card, clear heat embossed and cut him out. Using Distress Watercolour Pencils I added adding lots of bright colour to make him really stand out against the background. 

I stamped the sentiment onto some inky mop up card and cut around it to create a cloud. I also cut a couple of other little clouds by hand. These added some dimension by layering the clouds and caterpillar.

The finishing touch was some glossy accent on his glasses so that they reflect like a real pair. 

I love how colourful and whimsical this card turned out. Sometimes it's fun to step away from traditional card making and create a little world of your own. I hope this gives you some inspiration to get out your stamps and inks and create something magical?

Bloom you own way with STAMPlorations

Today I'm sharing my latest STAMPlorations Design Team project, featuring one of the new Simple Expressions stamp sets. This one is called Bloom, and I absolutely love the positive message “Bloom your own way.”

I teamed the sentiment with the beautiful Blossom Sprays #5 floral stamp and the Bold Florals stencil. I wanted to create something bright, colourful and full of flowers, so I used Distress Ink through the stencil to create the pink and blue background.

I used the outline "Bloom" stamp first with the sentiment and teamed it with the beautiful Blossom Sprays #5 floral stamp. 

I coloured the flowers in shades of purple and blue using distress watercolour pencils

I then used the solid bloom stamp to add the colour and added some sparkle to the petals and flower as a finishing touch. These stamps are super easy to line up.

I love how the bold background works with the delicate floral image, while the large BLOOM sentiment remains the focal point of the design.

Sometimes we all need a little reminder that we don't have to follow everyone else's path — we can simply bloom our own way! 💜
