Wow what a fun week of 13th birthday celebrations we have enjoyed over at STAMPlorations ! I hope you have too?

These are my final 3 cards I made to showcase some of the brand new products which are in store now.
First up is a card using the fab Focal fronts . I used the coffee and roses one and teamed it with the Nothing makes sense  typografia stamp

My 2nd card is another using the lovely new face stencil

and my final card showcases one of the new Big cupcake colourables with an ATC from the Colour me spring set on top of a sheet of Floral 1 backdrops The daisy background edge was stamped using Fluttery and the sentiment is also from that set.

You still have today to join in with the birthday fun. Remember to head over to the STAMPlorations blog for all the details. It's open to everyone worldwide.

Happy 13th birthday to Shery and her wonderful brand!

Summer butterflies from Visible Image

Hi Everyone. It's time for my fortnightly design team make for Visible Image.

Today I'm sharing a clean and simple summery birthday card featuring the Antisocial Butterfly stamp set

paired with a sentiment from Best Birthday Ever set

and the Seeing Stars stencil.

To create the background, I blended these 3 Distress Ink colours through the stencil, keeping the design fresh and vibrant.

I then stamped the butterfly using Nocturne Versafine Clair ink

I added the small butterflies to create some movement.

I then stamped the butterfly a second time onto a scrap of white card and added a touch of water colouring using two of the same ink colours to tie everything together.

After fussy cutting the butterfly, I attached it with foam tape to give the wings a little extra dimension and movement.

I then matted onto a red piece of card and then onto a white card blank.

Here is one final photo.

Below is an alternative version of the same design featuring an inked background created with Distress Spray Stains in the same colours.

I love how versatile this layout is and how easily it can be adapted for different looks while keeping that clean and simple design style.

Thanks for stopping by.

There are also some fab new products on the STAMPlorations website and I made 7 cards to showcase some of them.

These are my first 4 and will share the last 3 on Friday.

These are 2 cards using one of the new Pocket backdrops. I used the Floral #1 pack for both the backgrounds. The cupcake is from  the Big cupcakes colourables set, such fun and so easy to colour and peeping out behind is a piece from the Floral parade cut-out ephemera which you will find here

My 2nd card also uses a Colourable but this one is from the pack called Big Birthday cakes I teamed it with 2 butterflies from the Fluttery stamp set and a sentiment from the Say it big, enough set  . Again I have tucked a piece from the Floral parade cut-out ephemera behind the sentiment which you will find here

For card number 3 I used one of the brand new face stencils called Profile 1 with distress inks. I paired it with a sentiment stamp from Romantic expressions 1

My final card uses a sentiment from the new Floral magic stickers stickers and a gorgeous image from the new Flowers and coffee focal fronts available here. The background is a sheet of my favourite Faded botanicals collage paper.

Do check out how to join in with the STAMPlorations party over on the blog here. It would be lovely for Shery to feel all the love we are sending her. The new "Shine On" release from Simon Says stamp

Hello Everyone, Simon says stamp have just launched their latest release called "Shine on". You can shop the whole collection here.

I was sent the hilarious new "Divorce upside" sentiment set to create with. These sentiments are certainly not the usual "Happy Birthday" but packed with quirky, witty greetings that made me smile while I was crafting. Sometimes a handmade card is just the thing to raise a smile during life's twists and turns.

I paired them with bright colours and cheerful designs. While these sentiments are a little different from the occasions we usually craft for, I love how they bring humour, encouragement and a positive outlook to a new chapter.

Whether it's offering support, celebrating a fresh start or simply letting a friend know you're thinking of them, a handmade card can make all the difference.

To match the fun of the sentiments, I went for bright colours, happy details and lots of playful elements. Sometimes it's good to step away from the traditional occasions and make something completely different.

I made 3 cards and a tag and will be sharing some process photos and close ups on my Instagram account here over the coming days. I like to put them all together here in a blog post for reference. All the products I have used are available on the Simon Says Stamp website.

Card 1

I used a distress ink background with pastel cardstock and cups and saucers die cut using the Tim Holtz Papercut Cafe die set.

Card 2

For this card I used a background made using Tim Holtz's large size "Numbered" 3D embossing folder and silver card. The extra numbers, hand etc are from his Postale die set

Card 3

I find the stamp hilarious, those pancakes and spatulas are such fun. I used a distress  oxide stain spray background with some extra distress watercolour pencil detailing. There is a sheet of Tim Holtz green paper palette paper tucked underneath too.

Tag

I used Kraft card for the background and the hearts are Tim Holtz' stacked hearts die set. This tag works well attached to a bottle of wine...a great gift for someone who is celebrating their divroce.

My dear Hb and I are celebrating 45 years of happy marriage on 25th July so fortunately I won't need to use the set for his next card!
So there we are, meet Simon Says Stamp's "The Upside of Divorce" set. They're a little bit unexpected, a little bit cheeky, but definitely memorable.

The cats whiskers

Hi everyone. It's time for my fortnightly design team make for  Visible Image. Today I am sharing a card featuring the fun That lovin feline cats with the hilarious The cat's whiskers stencil.

And this is how I made it.

I placed the The cat's whiskers stencil

onto my card stock and kept it in place with my magnets (or you can just tape it down). Using these distress inks I blended the background and facial features.

I cut the background down to size.

I chose one of the cats, the bird and the heart stamps from That lovin feline

and stamped them as shown, and added one of the fun sentiments.

For a fun extra detail I stamped the bird on top of the cat stencil's head.

Using distress inks I water coloured my images.

Once dry I matted it onto red card and then a white card blank.

 Here it is once more.

You could use any colourway for this design and even personalise the cat for the recipient. This card is great for really fun a new home card. The other sentiments in the set work for a get well message or just to say hi and send a purr!

Thanks for stopping by.

This is my design team card for a little creative inspiration. I used some scraps from the  faded botanical collage paper pack with flowers made using the trendy spring blooms die set and a sentiments from the fond expressions 2 sentiment set and   Cup of roses stamp set.

This card is a great way to use all those little scraps, nothing needs to be wasted from these gorgeous collage paper. I just inked the edges and added them randomly over a piece of pink card to create my background.

I randomly stamped the sentiments from the Cup of roses stamp set all over the background using 2 different coloured inks.  You need to be quick if you would like to buy this set as it is being retired and once the last set is sold it is not being restocked.

I then cut out these elements to add. The sentiment is from the fond expressions 2 sentiment set

Finishing touches included glitter gel and liquid pearl plus I distressed the edges.

Here is my finished card once more.
