Our Billy is in print

Our Billy has a lot of fans here and has featured in many of my blog posts. He really is as gorgeous a boy as he looks in all the photos. He is funny, gentle, so well behaved and such a wonderful cat to share our home with.
He has the freedom of outside and indoors and is very much a fair weather cat. With all the recent torrential rain he would much rather be indoors and his favourite place to sleep is on our green rocking chair. In fact I think we will have to call it Billy's chair as he does not like us sitting there at all.
This is how he spent a lot of the very wet weekend we had. He loves to lie upside down and makes us laugh with his antics.

He is such fun to watch.

Last month I had an email from one of my American artist blogging friends, Jane Tentas. Jane and I met via Illustration Friday...I have some really great ladies I  through this; hello Michele, Linda, Shirley and Bethanie. They all create the most fabulous work and although we live thousands of miles away I count them as good friends.

Jane wrote to say how she loves seeing Billy in my blog posts and that as he is such a good model she had created a block print of him. This is the photo she used for inspiration which was on my blog a few months back.
She asked if she could send me a print and I sent her my address. After a week a package arrived and look what it contained.
How amazing is that!!  My gorgeous boy in print.
We showed the print to Billy

He had a good sniff and a look.....

Then he decided to try to re create the pose ;0)

He then had a game of peek a boo.

He took a bow....

and after all that energetic work he decided it was time to settle down again and have a snooze.

So thank you Jane from Billy and me. We love his print  and I am in the process of getting a frame so that it can sit on the bookcase above the green chair and look down at our Billy. What a wonderful place the blogging universe is!

So on to today's card challenge. This is slightly tongue in cheek as I know that cats do catch birds. Now our Billy is far too well fed to bother. He does occasionally watch them and he is good at shooing away some of the occasional pesky pigeons who try to invade my tiny garden.

This is a sweet Stampendous stamp called "Girlie Chick". I hand coloured the image using my trusty Promarkers and highlighed using my Prismacolor pencils.

I added some little gems to the centres of the flowers on the parcels. I used silver backing card and placed white and silver velum on top. I really like blue and silver as a colour scheme. I also used some pretty blue ribbon, blue pearls and one of my LOTV round sentiments.

I hung a little bird house charm from the die cut. This was a card I made for my parents' wedding anniversary and my Mum has put the little bird house charm onto a chain as a keepsake.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges.

Papertake Weekly Anything Goes

Today is the first day of May and here in the South East it has been a gorgeous blue sky and sunshine afternoon and is warming up nicely. We have had the most torrential rain for the last few weeks, especially  over the weekend, and we have been told it has been the wettest April since records began. Some parts of the country are sadly now on flood alert while here in the South East we still have a hose pipe ban in force - the weather is really upside down.

Keep dry wherever you and  let's hope we all start to see some more warm May weather soon.

Bye for now,

Jane (and Billy ;0)

And that print is simply stunning, and I loved to see how B inspected it very carefully before deciding that he could share his chair (you see, it's HIS chair for all of us!) with it. It'll be lovely once framed.

Your card is so pretty too, I can't understand how you get everything done!!! Is there more hours in your day, dear? How many days until the W?

My cat keeps bringing in baby rabbits and mice at the moment, she brings them to me as 'gifts', she does well for the old lady she is but I do wish she wouldn't, on the plus side, she hasn't caught a bird for some years.
