or sometimes red, as in the case of the copper beech.
It's almost time for me to go up to the local nurseries and buy my bedding plants. I need to remember not to "Cast a clout til May be out" and the Hawthorne is not yet in flower ;0) I adore fuchsia and although it's too early to plant any out I thought I would use my new Chocolate Baroque stamp set to make a card with the fuchsia image.
I have been water colouring some images making cards for the Tea Rooms which opens next week.
Here is one, it's such a pretty fuchsia stamp. I coloured it with distress inks.
I made a background with my bark embossing folder and distress paints similar to the one I made my April Tim card. Here is my finished card. The lovely die is by Joy Craft.

We had some rather welcome rain today, I could not believe how dry my garden was getting. I think the extreme heat of the weekend has settled and we are back to our normal spring temperatures for the next few days. We had a fab time at the weekend, it was steaming and yes that BBQ got fired up too.
This was Daisy Jane making Nanna a "cuppa" in the garden. It was so hot we had to find some shade.... she is so funny..........
and yes even in 28c she wants to wear her wellies ;0)

Wow what a wonderful array of photos. First off I came to say I love your card, its beautiful, love your watercolouring. Then the other photos are an added pleasure, all that beauty as the warm weather comes along. your granddaughter looks like she is having fun. I too enjoy the company of my grandchildren, I find that I can do with them what I never had time for with my children. Its such a different experience. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your fuchsia card.. al also adore them. I've lost all my "hardy" ones I had. I think they look like ballerinas. Precious Daisy.. what a darling. She looks quite a busy little tea maker. And I see she likes to play with water.. of course she does! Give her a hug from her friend across the sea. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the baroque challenge. I love the colours and how spring has inspired you. I love your pictures because it just shows how much spring is here.
ReplyDeleteLove all the photos of your locality Jane and the beach ones too. Fuchsias are one of my most favourite flowers too and my hardy ones are all bursting through with new life. Your tearoom cards are going to be a huge success I am sure and your samples look fabulous. Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea from Daisy. Xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is glorious seeing everything burst into leaf isn't it Jane.
ReplyDeleteI too love that CB fuchsia stamp and it looks so delicate with the pretty die cut frame, many thanks for sharing it with us at Penny Black and More and Stamping Sensations challenges.

Hello dear Jane,
ReplyDeleteYour weather (and garden!) is amazing!! Enjoy those beautiful days with Daisy, she is so sweet in her wellies! It's getting green here too, and a little rain yesterday really helped too, it was getting dry here also (I can't believe I just said that, did I just jinxed whole sunny May?).
Happy crafting, what a beautiful card again!

Daisy is so cute and I know she has completely stolen your heart. I know I have told you at least twice how much I love all of your pictures. How delightful to go to a real Tea Room for tea. And your work is so lovely it is good you have a place to take your cards. Beautiful water coloring. What a perfect spot - a Tea Room!
