My Portugal holiday journal

Today I can finally share my completed holiday journal from our recent adventures in Portugal. This was a real labour of love but holiday journals are so worthwhile. There is nothing better than looking back through them and revisiting awesome memories.
If you have not seen any of my holiday posts you can see them here and here
This was the view from our balcony
and here is a collage of my finished holiday journal.

I made most of the cover sitting on the balcony.

Today is also my weekly inspiration post for Visible Image and you will see that every single stamp I used in my journal is by Visible Image.  I used lots of their sets by predominantly these sets, which are perfect for holiday journalling.
Capture the moment
I thought I would share a process of another of the inside pages..if you missed my earlier page which I shared you can find it here
This page was for our day out in Lisbon. Each day we took some  Instax photos, as well as using my usual camera.  These photos measure approx 8.5 by 5.5cm. I use the colours in my photos to inspire each page.

I first made a background using stamps from Mesh-ellaneus. These are such cool stamps.
They work perfectly with Distress oxides
I had fun playing with a background pattern.
I just had to use the camera ( I know it isn't an Instax but it's retro enough for me) which I stamped, embossed and fussy cut out

I stamped and fussy cut out some of the paper boats...
I then put on my creative hat and put together my page
Here are a few close ups.
Don't you just love the paper boats...I do 😊

Before I go I would just share a few more details of just how perfect Visible Image stamps are for creating backgrounds for journalling ;all these pages had photos added to them but here are some before I embellished them.
An orange mesh-allaneus
the ink splats created the brown splats below. I used a stencil for the clocks but the script and smile are also stamps from these sets I shared links to.
and words from the Capture the moment and Destination unknown sets.
So there we are...a real labour of love but so worth doing...there are a lifetime of memories inside my journal.
I really hope that I might have inspired you to create your own holiday journal.

You will be able to
