As I walked down to Dotty's Teahouse on Friday with the first of my Christmas cards I am selling I wore my gloves and scarf for the first time this year. The temperature has finally dropped and the trees are now beginning to shed their leaves. I marvelled at the glorious colours in them, lit up by the sunshine.
What is there not to love about Mother Nature on a day like this?
This is Honeywood, our local museum which looks out onto the ponds.
The fallen leaves are gorgeous, crisp and crunchy underfoot. I am very lucky to have such a pretty walk and even though we have lived here for 34 years I see something different every single time.
My card today is another Christmas card. I decided to design using falling snowflakes rather than leaves. I also wanted to catch up with some challenges including my #5 Funkie Junkie card.I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
The funkie junkie 12 tags of Christmas #6
If you would like to play along with Linda's challenge you can see all the rules here. There are some great prizes for the winners too. The challenge is generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique Linda shares a tag each week and you just have to take something from it and make something Christmas themed. I have always chosen to make cards and it's a great way to make 12 very unique cards for Christmas.
You can also combine it with any other challenges...so that is just what I did.
This is her card for week 6 here. I took the red colour,snowflakes and cut outs to use for some of the inspiration in my design

Wow Jane, it's just so beautiful where you live! Those autumn photos are so inviting, I want to take a walk with you through the leaves by the water! Gorgeous! Your card is just amazing! I love the red and white palette, such a great contrast! Your embossing pattern is wonderful, the curved border with the snowflakes is fantastic and all your snowflakes with the little tags are just amazing! The touches of silver really shine, so festive!! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Jane. Love the sharp crisp red and white. The silver snowflakes are lovely and the way you added sentiment tags to the die cuts si brilliant. Your fall photos are awesome. I want to take that walk too! We don't get a change of seasons like that here in Florida and I miss that!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
A fabulous design! I love the stamped silver snowflakes and how clever to make the little peek through die cut snowflakes to let that bold red shine! Your photos are wonderful; you have some truly beautiful scenery where you live! I believe I might give up blogging if I had those glorious surroundings! Well, maybe I'd still do it on rainy days! Hugs!
