Hi everyone, I am delighted to share my first blogged design team make using the awesome new "Time to Fly" Visible Image release. This collection launched on 9th December and features 3 gorgeous stamp sets and 3 inspiring stencils. You may notice a few golden oldies re-imagined with beautiful new accessory stamps and sentiments. You can explore the whole new release on the website here.
For today's make I used the new Noted stencil
With the "Spread your wings" stamp set
to create a little stitched book. These are the some central pages.
And here is how it came together.
I started by cutting a 12" x12" sheet of brown card in half. One piece was scored down the centre to make the "covers". I stamped the bird and sentiment on the front using black Versafine Clair ink and clear heat embossed them.
Next I scored an A4 sheet of cream linen card in half and trimmed it to fit inside the covers.
Using a thick needle I pierced the spine in 4 evenly spaced points. With thick thread I stitched the pages in a figure of 8 pattern, fastening off the thread on the outside of the spine.
For the inner stamped panels I blended Scorched timber distress oxide ink through the Noted stencil - twice - over an A4 sheet of off-white smooth card then cut the sheet down the middle.
I stamped the designs as shown below and then cut them out.
I "aged" the pages using Old paper distress ink. I distressed the edges using a distressing tool and folded some parts over.
I adhered these pages into the centre of the book and then trimmed down and distressed those cream linen pages for a worn look. I also added a panel of stamping to the front.
Here are some close ups of the inside pages.
And one final shot.
If you would like to see a video "walk through" I've shared it in my latest Instagram post. (I am unable to embed it here into Blogger.)
I have also been posting the rest of my other new release makes on Instagram, please pop on over and follow me - you can find me here
