Yes a little dusting of the white stuff . It was very pretty and the good thing was that it was gone within just a few hours. Now that is the right kind of snow for me.
Today we started at -4c...brr and the maximum during the day was 4c!

At this time of the year there is still lots of colour around and I spied these beauties in the local garden centre.
Gorgeous rich red cyclamen
pretty baskets of pansies
(edit; these are of course primroses not pansies..but yes there were even pansies there too)
and of course Poinsettia.
It is not quite time to make my first mince pies but I had some fun making some cakes with my new chocolate buttons mould.
It is such fun...simply melt the chocolate, pour into the mould, let it set and out pops real chocolate buttons.
I made some small fairy cakes, added a swirl of butter cream icing and my chocolate buttons in white and milk chocolate. They really caused quite a stir when I served them.
Aren't they fun!
They tasted pretty good too ;0) I think I will make some of these for Christmas tea as not everyone like mince pies.
One Christmas job I have finished is writing and posting all my Christmas cards so I can finally start showing some which I have made for friends and family who do occasionally read my blog. I think today's theme needs to be snow and poinsettias so this is my card challenge.
She is my sweet Moonlight wishes Lili of the Valley stamp in a green red colourway. I have coloured her with Promarkers and highlighted with Prismacolor Pencils. I have added a poinsettia die cut, holly swirl and 3 different punches; large holly, small holly and a snowflake. The tags are LOTV and the ticket is from Whimsy stamps. I have been playing with my Viva pearl pen again...I love this.

Tomorrow night is my work Christmas meal and party and I will be wearing my Cinderella slippers ;0) It finishes at midnight so I need to be on my way home before the clock strikes 12 don't I? On Saturday we will be trimming the main tree...so very exciting. I hope all your preparations are progressing well? I have really enjoyed seeing all your decorations on your blogs. Thanks as always for taking the time to visit me here and leaving your lovely comments.
Keep warm,

ReplyDeleteHi Caroline they are made by a company called SiliconeMoulds.com designed by Sarah Jane Nash..lots of people stock them but I got mine on Ebay ;0) BEWARE though, there are some imitation Chinese ones which have issues with what they are made with.

Good morning Robin, my party day has arrived...I just need to go to work first!I just realised I labelled those as pansies when they are actually primroses, I will edit that but yes there were pansies there too. Pansies over winter fine here. If you were this side of the pond you could join me for tea and a button cake!
