The stunning new The light you carry release from Visible Image

I'm very excited to share my first Design Team make from the brand new Visible Image release, The Light You Carry. It is a set of 4 wonderful thought provoking stamp sets and 4 wonderful stencils. You can check it out on the website here

This beautiful new collection has been created to coincide with Mindfulness Month (October), making it the perfect time to pause, reflect and enjoy a little creative time for ourselves.

For my first card I chose to use the gorgeous new Take a Breath stamp set.

 I wanted to create a peaceful sunset scene, with the girl sitting quietly on the rocks looking out across the water — and I think it fits the mindfulness theme perfectly. First I stamped the girl and horizon onto my mixed media card.

Then I started to colour the whole scene using my Distress Watercolour Pencils, building up layers of pinks, purples and warm sunset shades. This was inspired by the beautiful sunsets we see on our holidays in Rhodes. Here are the stages

The sentiment “pause. breathe. repeat.” seemed the perfect finishing touch for such a calm and reflective scene. I also finished off with some white posca pen detailing on the waves.

I really enjoyed working with this beautiful new set — and this is just the first of my samples from The Light You Carry, so I'll have lots more from the new release to share with you very soon. 💜
