The first day in April

I had a really good start to April as it was my birthday yesterday. My family and friends know me so well and I was spoilt with messages, emails, cards and pressies. Yes you have spotted among some of my gorgeous pressies a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S, thanks M, even more speedy and useful for my blogging.

Among my lovely cards..............
was this very special one
yes it was from my darling Daisy, her first hand made card for me with lots of lovely glitter
Her nursery teacher wrote inside and she has made a great effort to copy :0)

M and I went up to lunch in London, more of that in another post, but the food and cocktails were scrumptious
The sun shone for most of the day which was a real blessing as it was so windy. It was definitely more March winds than April showers.

As Easter is fast approaching and we will be celebrating my birthday on Sunday with the rest of the family my card for today's challenges is an Easter card.

I recently won some printed panels from Little Claire's in their last challenge (as well as some other lovely goodies). I used this for my focal image as I thought it perfect for Easter. I used a die cut embossed front and I coloured the flowers with distress inks as well as the sweet Cheery Lynn chick die cut. The sentiment is LOTV

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Papertake weekly take your pick I have chosen pastels
Try it on Tuesdays they who have wings my little chick has wings
The Emerald Faeries spring flowers/Easter
Creative Inspirations anything goes
Natalie and Amy frame it
Noor! anything goes
Die cut Divas in the garden
Live and Love Crafts signs of spring
Simon Says stamp Monday Pastels
Pan Pastels spring colours

I have one of those very rare Thursdays when I have a day at home...I have a long list of things to do but it does include some crafting time....I may even get out my new crochet book....so exciting. I will certainly not be distracted by the garden as it is raining this morning. Thanks as always for visiting me and if you are now off for a break over the Easter long weekend, have fun.

Time for me to go and make the most of a full day ahead............

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

  4. Good morning, Jane! What lovely gifts, cards and surprises you got for your birthday, the ultimate being that beautiful handmade card by little Daisy...definitely a crafter in the making (especialy if her Nana has anything to do with it!)
I have the same crochet book and it is how I taught myself to crochet, so I'm sure you'll love it! I am in the middle of creating my first proper crochet project, a sweet little unicorn for a friend's little girl for Christmas (I am determined I am making my presents this year!) only 2 more legs and a tail and then I have to try and stitch it together and make it resemble something like a horse type creature!!...we'll see!
I love your simple Easter card using that pretty die cut frame and sweet image! Have a wonderful day off and a fabulous Easter break too - looks like the weather is going to be kind to us. Hugs, Lisa x
