The Funkie Junkie's 12 tags of Christmas 2015 Jane's Journal style #5

I am back again with my number 5 card creation for Linda's fun countdown to Christmas challenge.
For those of you who are new to Linda's challenge you can read all the rules of it here. In a nutshell you use her weekly tag for inspiration and you can create anything crafty and as long as all 12 projects are completed by 22 Dec. You also have a chance to win one of her generous prizes. I was lucky enough to win $25 dollars last year  to spend in her wonderful on line boutique which sponsors the challenge. Do have a look here at her shop, her stock is enormous and her prices really keen.

I choose to use the challenge to create 12 special Christmas cards.
Linda's #5 tag can be seen here

I used for my inspiration the delicate green colour of her background and that lovely bright pop of red. The trees also made me want to use one of my favourite Christmas stamps

I got out some delicate Christmas green distress inks.  As well as the evergreen bough that Linda used I used some iced spruce.
 I blended the green and then added some splashes of water and some white linen ink spray to get a slightly snowy background. I inked the edges with vintage photo
I then stamped the image onto my background and coloured part of it with distress inks. As this is such a gorgeous stamp I did not want to add too much extra too it.
 I then put on my creative hat and finished off my design.

Here it is below and as you can see I just added pops of red with the sentiment and holly berry gems.
I love this red glitter card I have, it is so bright and sparkly

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

You'll have to pop back on Wednesday for the full reveal and also some party photos. Wednesday is also Daisy's actual 2nd birthday, thanks for all your good wishes to her....they have all been passed on.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

  25. What a beauty! Love the background and I can see why that's one of your favorite Christmas stamps. It's really wonderful. Love the way you colored the holly on the edges and added the sparkly red rhinestones. That gorgeous red Merry Christmas die cut is the perfect finisher. I'm sorry it's taken me a month to come by for a closer look. So glad you are still playing along!

    Hugs,
