Happy new year with Country View challenges

Happy new year everyone! A warm welcome to the very first day of January 2024. I am here bright and early as I am the host of this month's new challenge over at Country View. As you will remember our challenges are now hosted over on Facebook here but I still like to blog my makes. You don't need a blog or an Instagram account, just head over to the group and join in with the fun! The link is here and if you are not already a member just request to join and we will love to welcome you. It is also a place where you can see Country View Craft products, the latest releases etc etc. We have a happy membership of over 250 crafters already and we are growing every day.

I try to link up the products I use in my posts but obviously stock on the CVC website sells out quickly . Some may be out of stock when you click on the links. If they are just fill in the email notification and you will be emailed when they are back in stock.

The theme I have chosen for the January challenge is "Get wordy". So I would like to see a sentiment or some words on your entries. You can enter as many times as you like as long as you use products or brands which are stocked on the Country View Website.

For my first design team inspiration make I just had to make a new year card didn't I!

Here it is;

The words I used are from the Visible Image "Go to Christmas words" set which you will find here.

I used an old Tim Holtz bells Bigz die from my stash and the brilliant  Mischievous cats Tim Holtz dies.

The background was made with distress stain sprays  the star stamp is from my stash.

This is what I got up to; I used frayed burlap, prize ribbon and spun sugar distress stain sprays with some Fog mist distress mica stain for a little sparkle. I love the mica sprays and Susan has sold out of that one, the nearest is in this set

I die cut the bells from gold card (sorry the photo is so fuzzy but daylight light it pretty non existent at this time of the year!
I stamped the words at the bottom of the card

I die cut the cats in black and added face details using gold pen

I had a play with positioning the cats

and then put the design together.  I added gold pen details to the bells too. I stamped the stars using Versafine charming pink ink and added some sequins from my stash.

Here is the finished card again

with some close ups

and 1 final shot

I really hope that I may have inspired you to join in with the "Get wordy" fun. Do head over to the challenge on Facebook here.  There is also an amazing prize for one randomly selected winner.

Remember you can find me most days over on Instagram here @jane.tyrrell where I do share many, many more makes then I have the time to blog.

I will be back on Friday with my 2nd "get wordy" make.

Bye for now,

Jane x
