Hi everyone and welcome to my fortnightly blogged design team post for Visible Image. I'm delighted that both my grown up children have inherited my passion for gardening. My daughter loves growing veg but she also loves growing flowers for cutting. During the spring she has been filling her home with daffodils, hellebores and most recently wonderful tulips. It was her birthday recently and I made her this spring garden themed card.
I used the gorgeous Sketched tulips stamp set
To add to the garden feel ( and also because her daughter, my granddaughter is called Daisy) I also used the "Daisy Daisy" stencil in the background.
The sentiments are from the "Lost for words" sentiment set.
This is what I got up to;
I taped down an A5 piece of white card and placed the stencil down. Using the distress inks shown below I carefully blended the inks over the stencil. I just hold the stencil in place in the centre using a couple of fingers.
I moved the Daisy Daisy stencil around and added more colour.
I cut my background down to a 5 1/4" square. I stamped the main images and sentiments as shown below using Versafine Claire nocturne ink, which I clear heat embossed. I added the stem stamp from the set using orange ink.
I then stamped the large tulip and 2 small tulips heads again onto white card . I over stamped the blooms with the Bronte verse stamp in the set using yellow versafine.
I cut them all out.
and adhered them over the images stamped on the background. I also added some gold pen details to the flower sprigs and white pen detailing on the sentiments.
with a couple of close ups
