A merry Visible Image Christmas

Hello it's time for my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image. Today I am sharing a Christmas card as this is my last DT post for this year. 

Everywhere is looking very festive...I so love this time of the year. We managed to get up to the garden centre to buy our tree and I loved seeing lots of decorations up for sale. 

For my Christmas card I worked with one of the 2020 Christmas stamp sets 

Inked holly  

and a sweet sentiment from their 2019 Christmas release.

Sentimental Christmas 

I do love a "chalkboard" background on Christmas cards and use them a lot. This is how I made it.

I used white pigment ink on black card and repeat stamped all over. 

I stamped the holly once more in black ink onto white card and cut it out. I coloured the berries and then added glossy accents for some shine.

I then stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a heart shaped die. Once the glossy accents had dried I put my card together.

The Christmas hearth

Good morning I have already opened window 3 of my vintage advent calendar and my decorations are up. I have put 3 of my handmade Christmas projects in my hearth.  2 are from years back and one is a newbie which I finished last week.

It's time for my 2nd design team make for our current "Anything Christmas" challenge over at Country View. For my second make I decided to create a vintage Christmas hearth scene card inspired by my own 1930s hearth. This is what I got up to;

I made a background using crackling campfire, squeezed lemonade and brushed pewter distress stain sprays. Susan has some of the colours in stock here .

Sorry it's so blurred but you will see it better in later photos.

I used a fun older Tim Holtz die which I must admit was very fiddly to put together but I think the end results justified the time!

I die cut and put all the elements together.

The wreath and stamped sentiment are from other Tim Holtz sets.

This is what I got up to;

I made a shaving foam ink reinker background (there are lots of tutorials on line for this very old technique)

I added some extra distress ink

I stamped and white embossed the Christmas in the heart sentiment onto the smallest of the Crazy running stitch dies

and added a few die cut greenery pieces and "snow" to finish off.
