O Christmas tree...Billy style

Hello blogging friends, it's me Billy the cat here. Mrs Christmas aka Jane, is having that mad moment when she brings a tree, yes a real tree into the house and proceeds to dress it up with all sorts of shiny things. Here I was sitting on my favourite perch just minding my own business...
when I noticed the garage door open and this began to emerge. Obviously Jane had been out fishing for trees as it had been captured in no less than a net! Quite extraordinary, it seemed pretty dry. Jane's DH fiddled around on the floor with some kind of contraption and stood the poor tree up.
I had a quick sniff
They even moved my scratching post over...cheek!
At least they then set the poor tree free by removing the net. They then set about dressing it up in fancy dress. I must admit I think it looks quite fun.
There is a new bauble this year which Jane made at Centre Parcs, she says she will share her pottery painting with you soon, as she made some other bits too
She has so many decorations she has collected over the years. Some my predecessors,  Diggory and Megan marvelled at them too.
I kept out of the way on the computer chair and started typing this blog post.

Now not being satisfied with fishing for 1 tree they then brought in the one which lives in my garden all year. This is my friend Chocolate Tree and he and I spent lots of time together. He sometimes gives me some shade in the summer. At least they didn't net Old Choc. He was carried in with a little more dignity.
Well here he is and yes you guessed it, he is now wearing his chocolate coat and shiny lights.

This year Jane has decided to hang some of her vintage decorations on him. He told me he feels very honoured.  I think he is standing extra proud in the hall way.
These moons are from when Jane was a little girl in the 1960s. Spot those Lindor chocs....Jane's favourites. There are also some Cadbury's  parcels on there amongst his branches.

and this belonged to her dear Nan.
I think he looks a bit like the jolly chap in the red suit who visits once a year. I need to have a word with him that this year a special little girl called Daisy will be staying here. She has been very good and deserves lots of lovely presents from him. I know that his reindeer always appreciate the carrot and mince pie left out. He needs to go easy with all the sherry though, last year his boots were a bit noisy. It will be good to catch up with them all. It's very odd that they only seem to come this time of year. I wonder what they get up to the rest of the time? I'll have to ask Old Choc.

Now I have been told that if I am allowed control of Jane's blog today then I have to also show one of her card creations as she likes to enter card challenges.

She tells me the stamp is by Visible Image and she coloured it with Distress Ink.  Well that's pretty apt as that poor netted tree must have been very distressed. She made a snowy embossed background and used a holly Cheery Lynn die. The sentiment is LOTV. She added lots of chunky glass glitter which you might see better here
I'm not sure how she adds the glitter, it gets all over my paws every time I try.

She would like to enter her card into the following challenges;

So that's it from me, normal service will resume from Jane soon. She also tells me that Mr Blogger is having a bit of a meltdown at the moment. He has put up the "put this number in the box thing" robot word verification when you try to leave a comment.  Jane says you can just ignore it, leave a comment and hit publish and any comments will still post. ****edit from Jane; my friend Alexandra seems to have solved the problem..I have changed my settings in my comments to "embedded". Fingers crossed this works. Thanks!****

She is cracker making at the moment...hmmm.  I think I will leave her to it although I do enjoy chasing those ribbons she uses. I call it being helpful, she mutters something different.  In the mean time can I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and furry New Year. I hope mine is fish filled. I'm off to see how Old Choc is doing in the hall and work out how on earth these stars fell out of the sky?

Purry hugs

Billy x

By the way Jane says it's only 2 weeks today until the Big Day...what on earth is she on about?

    I've enjoyed it tremendously!
The trees look beautiful and it is so sweet to see the "vintage" decorations too.
Please tell Jane that if she wants to get rid of that number verification, she can change the setting of her comment box to "embedded". I've had the same problem as well, a real pain!
Hope you only play with the ribbons Billy, don't get any ideas about those precious lights!

  19. Hi Billy, Tiger and Jet here. What a great idea to bring Old Choc indoors, we can see why he is being given the chance to display the special ornaments, he is a grand fellow.

We love it when the tree is put up in our house - it is really fun playing with the baubles on the lower branches, they even make great footballs if we can get them off the branches. Our mum loves football, but she seems quite cross when we try to play in this way - sometimes humans are very difficult to understand aren't they? BTW, have you ever watched Sad Cats Diary on youtube? Sums up a lot of what we try to say to the humans.

Hope your Christmas and New Year are jolly, bright and full of tuna!

Tiger and Jetxx PS Mum (Helen) says hello too!
