My walks to take my cards down to Dotty's Tea House occasionally are in the dark, now that the daylight is so short. I must admit that I find the light at dusk rather interesting and it makes for some fun photos.I know some of these are blurry but I snap them as I walk and I thought you would like to see them...........
I decided to "go to the dark side" with my latest art journal page. I wanted to enter the Craft barn challenge where the letter for this fortnight is U and there are some other fun challenges running too.
I chose U for universe and got spraying with my new Lindy sprays..such fun but soooo messy. I did remember to wear gloves though this time. The last time I used them my Hb though I had hurt my hands!
I did use a star stencil to start but it got rather covered up as I really and truly went over to the dark side in trying to create my "Universe"I just had fun spraying...and spraying...
Such fab effect
I found an apt quote on the Internet from none other that Stephen Hawking.and I included the "earth" on my pate of course, as per the definition, using Tim's world die cut
I also die cut some planets and stars using lots of snippets of inky mop up card.
Here is my completed page.
and some close ups...
I wish you could see this IRL...sooo much depth and sparkle in those sprays.
I really like this quote.
I would like to enter my art journal page into the following challenges;
Pixie's snippets playground #254 my pages is made completely of inky mop up snippets.
The Craft Barn Dictionary challenge U mine is for universe
Dies are us 3/3 thankful for nature
Love to Create 1/2 #23
Deep Ocean use die cuts and/or punches
I never look down at my feet as I am forever looking out at Mother Nature in all her glory and observing and photographing how she changes season by season.....I really love being a part of this glorious universe...and I do try to stay curious..especially when the dark shines.
Back soon,
Bye for now,
Jane x
Goodness Jane just where do I start. This is specactular. I love it. So much depth and the background is perfect. Did I mention that I love it. Truly lost for qords. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeletep.s. Your photos are brilliant too. We went to a firework display down in the villiage on Saturday. first time in a long time, not since the kids were small. After the display the single file queue to get back out through the turnstile was so long we elected to go out through the car park exit which resulted in us going the long way home right round the out skirts of the village in the pitch black. Took over an hr to get home!!! Not one of The Doc's brighter ideas!!!!
Awe thats lovely Jane, both the artwork and the quote!! I do love that deep blue.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week my friend, each day a little closer till the light returns. :)

Love your universe journal page and I bet it is shimmery and full of wonder. I have to get gloves:) love your pics-the first one looks romantic and I expect to see Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse dancing in the park.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful quote, Jane, and you created a beautiful page. The technique does look like a lot of fun and I can see how easy it would be to keep on spraying!! The gloves are definitely a good idea. I liked seeing your twilight photos too.....sometimes the camera can really capture the atmosphere in a special way.
