Easter celebrations

Happy April lovely blogging friends! Today there is lots to celebrate as it's Easter day, time for the latest Country View Craft challenge and my birthday. That's a lot to celebrate all in one day.

For our latest challenge the theme chose by my lovely teamie Evelyn has the fun title "Pimp it up!" In other words alter, change, recycle or up-cycle something. You can see all the details here

For the fun theme this month I "pimped up a little Links box. I wanted to keep a few of my treasured Links charms in it and also reuse a lovely Christmas star from a Christmas gift tag my son gave to me many years ago and has been sitting around in my studio waiting for a makeover.

This was my box "before". I painted it white.
This is my gift tag metal star kept by me for years.
I used my snips to cut off the part which had the string attached
I added some texture to the lid of my box and a Tim stencil
I worked with these Fresco colours
and I used Archival inks in matching colours to stencil some flowers around the side of my box.

 I then painted the lid.
I die cut some greenery using my Cheery Lynn rose leaves
Here is the finished lid, I also added some lace and ribbon to the rim.
Here is my completed charm box.
I hope that you might have some treasured things you could use in you projects and that I have given you some ideas.

All the details of our April challenge can be found here.

You can enter our challenge as many times as you like and combine with any other challenges. Your make can be anything creative! You may even be the lucky random winner of the £20 CVC voucher.
I would like to enter my charm box into the following challenges;

Simon says stamp Wednesday anything goes
Alphabet Challenge 1/3 anything but a card
Crafty Catz 1/3 anything goes

I am looking forward to celebrating with my dear family over a Sunday roast in a local hotel. I so treasure times when we get together.
Enjoy your Easter day and a very warm welcome to April...(let's hope the warm sunshine starts soon).... spring has finally sprung.

Back again tomorrow! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Bye for now,

Jane x
