My final Funkie Junkie project, Christmas must be just around the corner

Phew, I managed to get my final Funkie Junkie project finished yesterday. I really like making a collage of them all together...this represents12 weeks of fun crafting.

Your will see that for my final entry I decided to make a money wallet for my dear son. Boys always like a bit of cash to splash after Christmas don't they.

Christmas must also just be around the corner as I was so delighted to see on Thursday morning the festive foils appeared on my milk bottles. It's these little things which fill me with delight. We still have our milk delivered by a wonderful milkman called Mo, who never ever lets us down.  I am proud to support his doorstep delivery service.

I have also got my wreath up on the front door. My daughter had this one made for me by her local greengrocer.....I was thrilled with many lovely details and a big red bow to finish it off.

So back to my money wallet....
For those of you who are new to Linda's challenge you can read all the rules of it here. In a nutshell you use her weekly tag for inspiration and you can create anything crafty. If you get your skates on you could still enter as Linda has extended the deadline by 1 week and you can link up your projects until 27 December.
You also have a chance to win one of her generous prizes. I was lucky enough to win $25 dollars last year to spend in her wonderful on line boutique which sponsors the challenge. Do have a look here at her shop, her stock is enormous and her prices really keen.

I choose to use the challenge to create 12 special Christmas cards.

This is Linda's lovely final project here

I used a variation of the wallet I made last year which was originally designed by my friend Brenda of Bumblebees and Butterflies.I have tweaked it as like a bigger size.
I was inspired by Linda's use of Tim's holly stencil which is one of my Christmas favourites. I also wanted to feature some holly leaves as she did. I really like her red berry highlights inside her card so decided to use this idea too.

Here is what I got up to in my studio.
I  coloured my card with some festive colours.

and cut my pieces

I added distress ink through my holly stencil

and some festive stamping

I used the great "with love" die I won from my dear blogging friend Di in her fun Pixie playground.

Here is my finished wallet ready for my son.
This is a peep inside
and the back with all the bright berries

I would like to enter my wallet into the following challenges.

I would like to thank Linda for all her hard work hosting this challenge. It is a highlight of my Christmas crafting and her inspirational tags this year have been wonderful.

It's now just 5 more sleeps until the Big Day......are you ready? I very nearly am and I finished off the crackers yesterday. We have darling Daisy staying over later....this is the last time we will see her before Christmas as she is going to her other grandparents this year. We will have to wait until Boxing day until we catch up. We plan a family brunch to celebrate today, lots of lovely catching up.

Thanks for visiting,

Back soon with my last few countdown to Christmas posts.

Jane x

  5. what a wonderful money wallet Jane and such a great take on Lindas final 'tag'. a gorgeous wreath too - and your montage reminds me that when Tim does his tags next year - which I hope he does, I'll be able to make ATCs to go with them and put them in a frame I have. I saw a friend do it a few years ago and have been meaning to do it but not quite got there! Thanks for the nudge! Have a great Christmas - we're off to the winter wonderland tomorrow so I will be quiet for a few days! Big hugs Rachel x

  8. A wonderful wallet for your son, Jane! fabulous ribbon and great stamping and stencilling! Thanks so much for entering it this month at stamping sensations and good luck!

  9. I am so glad you get your milk that way... I wish we had the option of doing that. Your wreath is magnificent! It's not fun to have to share the grandchildren on the holidays. We had that happen last year.. but this year they're with us. Enjoy Boxing day and having Daisy over tonight. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  10. Beautiful collection, Jane,

And that wallet is so pretty too, love that little birdie and those bright berries!

Lovely last days before Christmas, dear friend, and happy crafting and decorating! A big kiss to Billy too!

  11. Love the wallet and the funkie Junkie project is simply AMAZING!!
I love your wreath and like you, details sand tradition such as the Christmas foils on top of the milk bottles melt my heart! Thank You for sharing, I always learn so much with you!

  12. What a really beautiful money wallet Jane - and so good to see step by step how you made it. LOVE the stencilling - such a professional end result. Didn't the die cut 'With Love' fit in just right too - and thank you for your sweet words!

I do wish we still had doorstep deliveries of milk here (clearly recall those Christmas foil tops!). Sadly ours stopped a good few years ago now, although I supported John (our milkman) right up to the very end. It did feel like the end of an era :(

Hope you had a lovely time with Daisy - and that Boxing Day is equally as much fun. In some ways, I always prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day - it seems more relaxed with more time to savour each moment.

    Di xx

  20. Wow! Your twelve tags look just wonderful all lined up - fantastic work! The money wallet makes for a great finale. I love all the holiday greenery. So sad I didn't have time to play along this year, but I've enjoyed seeing what everyone else got up to with Linda's great inspiration. 21. Jane, such a lovely post to read and see! It really put the Christmas joy in my day! Fabulous wallet for your son, and what a great way to finish up Linda's challenge! I can see by your collage you had so much fun with this, and a big round of applause for finishing with such style! You are such an inspiring artist!

I think I may have to borrow you idea for the wallet for a last minute gift for my own son who only wants cash for Christmas! Bah humbug!

I love that you still get milk delivered to your door, and what a lovely door it is! Love those little foil tops to the bottles, too! The milkman delivered milk fresh to our door everyday, too! My dad was a dairy farmer, and he would freshly pasteurized milk from the milk house to our house. Talk about fresh!

Thank you, too, for joining our You've Got Happy Mail challenge at Anything But Cute! Merry Christmas! Sara Emily DT

  22. Love your Funkie Junkie collection, Jane! It was seeing one of your posts in Pixie's Snippets Playground that inspired me to have a go. I have daftly squeezed it all into a few weeks though and I'm not finished yet! :-) April x

  23. Terrific money wallet with lots of festive touches and a perfect Christmas colour palette. Love you wreath and your milk delivery brings back fond memories of my childhood because WAY back then, we got it delivered too. The fun part is remembering when my Mother ordered whole milk and it came in a bottle that had an extra bit at the top for the cream, which always separated and floated to the top. Of course, if the delivery man left it on the porch and it froze overnight, that cream rose up and partially knocked the cap off. Thanks for joining us at Anything But Cute.

  24. WOW Jane, everything on this post is a feast for the creative eye! Love your collection for Linda's tags. Your wreath is gorgeous and the wallet is too cute! I used to get my milk delivered too. How fun! Thanks for sharing with us at Emerald Creek Dares, Cheers Nicole
