October sunshine

Last week I took Friday off work so that I could catch up with my darling daughter and Daisy. It was such a gorgeous day again that we decided to spend it at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.  This is such a great shopping spot and a pretty place to see the sea and enjoy lunch.
Everyone was sitting around in shirt sleeves watching the comings and going into Portsmouth Harbour.
We even spotted the same Isle of Wight ferry coming in that we took for our trip away in August
The spinnaker looked fabulous framed against the blue sky.
We enjoyed some retail therapy and lunch in Caffe Nero. Darling Daisy eats finger foods brilliantly.
At 2.30 Daisy had dozed off in her pushchair so my DD and I decided to enjoy afternoon tea before I had to set off for home. We were able to sit outside looking out to sea...bliss

Such pretty views

and as we walked back to the car park we spotted some beautiful pots of flowers. I love the rich reds and purples with the green.

At the weekend I decided to make another Halloween tag and first made up an inky background. I added a pop of green and purple just like the pots I had seen. I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress ink and blended them together. I also add a few flicks of water and then stamped one of his grunge stamps using Archival Ink. The edge was coloured with Vintage Photo DI
I also wanted to used another of Ignacio's fun vintage images. These are available here. The sentiment is also from Nicecane
Here is my finished tag
The branch is Memory Box and the leaf die is by Cheery Lynn. I have inked them with DIs

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges;

Cheery Lynn Halloween
Pan Pastel UK autumn
Allsorts autumn
Craft Hoarders Happy fall my hoarded item is the purple ribbon which has been in my stash for year!
Simon Says stamp Monday Falling in love with fall I'm falling in love with the colours...the flowers I saw on Friday inspired my tag.
Bearly Mine Halloween
Our Creative Corner Go rustic
Frilly and Funkie Halloween
Charisma Cardz anything but a card
Stamping Sensations warm autumn colours

Yesterday was much more like the usual October weather...wet and windy. I came home from work and got out my winter jacket....yes autumn really is here and the forecast for this week is much cooler. Today though the sun is shining brightly...perfect. Enjoy yours.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

  28. Very fun! Thanks for sharing the harbor photos. I live 8 miles from the harbor here in Oceanside, CA. We go there a lot for food and a stroll. It is not as nice as yours, as our harbor is very "cheap touristy" but we get some fish and chips at least! ;) Thanks for playing along with us this week at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!
