This week's inspirational tag can be seen here
I loved the red and green colours Linda used and also the watery stencilled background. I was also inspired by the Father Christmas stamp as I own a similar one. I think this card has a really retro feel to it so I wanted to try to capture this in my creation.
Off I went down to my garden studio after work and the first thing I made was a stencilled background. I used Kraft card stock to add to the retro feel. I used my TH stars stencil for this with Festive Berries Distress ink.
I spritzed it with water and also used the negative as a mask/stencil too.
Next I made some more backgrounds to use for tags and the background of my sentiment which I also stencilled.
I know this is a bit blurred but it gives an idea of the sparkle
As there is still time ahead for me to make my special cards I have put this one up for sale in my Etsy shop. The link is here
And so now starts the countdown to my favourite time of the year......yes just 12 weeks to go.

Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my last blog post! I'm just catching up with your previous posts. I especially enjoyed the "conkers"! I never heard that word before, although I always enjoy finding them. There aren't too many horse chestnut trees around, but I do know of one big one near the seacoast that I look for when we're down that way.
Have a good week!

Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteAfter leaving you a comment yesterday that I didn't
know of any horse chestnut trees nearby, I was out walking with a friend and basically stumbled over a bunch of conkers on the sidewalk. Picked up a few to bring home while explaining to my friend why I was so excited! Funny coincidence!!

ReplyDeleteYour card and the detailed photographs are just wonderful Jane!! I absolutely am so excited to see what you create this year too.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading your latest post about the remembrance and oh my goodness...that was so incredibly touching! I was so amazed at the vastness of all those flowers and it truly hits home how MANY lives were lost to preserve freedoms. What an incredible family story of love and loss and love again. I'm so happy it all added you into the equation. This post was so remarkable and your creation in honor of certainly had me smiling.
Hugs to you,
Lisa x
