A taste of summer

Good morning, the sun is back after a rather cloudy Sunday but wow what a week of weather we enjoyed here in South East England last week. It reached 27c in the shade in my garden on Wednesday after work. I enjoyed a sit down and basked for half an hour in the peace...bliss. I  shared with you a sneak peek of my day out with  my girlies on Tuesday so I thought  I would catch up with that today in my journal.

My weekend was brilliant; we spend a lovely Daisy Day on Saturday and my workshop was so good. I have made a canvas which I will share with you in due course.

Meanwhile back to my girlie day out last Tuesday.............

We went to Claremont in Surrey, a very pretty National Trust Gardens with a huge lake which at this time of the year is teaming with wildlife.
You can buy a little bag of seed to feed the fowl and obviously Daisy was delighted by this.

My daughter and I were thrilled when this Mummy duck and her 3 duckling not only swam over but got out the lake to say hello to Daisy.

Just look how close they came

We also said hello to a gorgeous black swan and just look at how many fish are in the water
What a lovely day we had...and of course it involved ladies lunch. Daisy even had her own little tray of food.
Nanna's cant' resist kisses even over lunch.

Our little dolly wore her legs out with all the running around
I love that Daisy is amongst the daisies here ;0)
I'm reliably told she went out like a light that night at bed time. Special Mum/Nanna times indeed.

So my card challenge entry today is spring greenery inspired.
I love making little money wallets, it's so much more personal than just giving cash. My design is a bigger version of the one my blogging friend Brenda of Butterflies and Bumblebees shared. I have made Christmas versions of this too. I used lots of spring distress ink colours and added some nature inspired die cuts and remnant rubs. I added some extra colours through my stencil for some more depth and texture and tied everything up with some green spring ribbon. This one was for my son,

This is the back,
the inside
and a little look at the detail on the front. The egg was coloured using Bister...yes I know I keep promising a post on this great product, I really will soon.
I would like to enter my money wallet into the following great challenges;

The Artistic stamper flora and fauna
Die cut divas in the garden
Craft stamper take a technique colour
Art with heart spring break
Mixed media world bright colours
Simon says stamp Mondays due date I was inspired but our girlie day out last Tuesday.
Inspiration journal everything goes
Simon says stamp Wednesday make your own background
That's crafty grunge grunge grunge
Crafting musketeer's It's a mans world

It's back to work for me this morning so time to dash. I hope you all enjoyed your weekends and thanks as always for your visits here. Sending sunshine your way.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

Is there anything cuter than baby ducks, so sweet and all that fresh air for your own 'little duck' is so good too! :)

  4. Fabulous money wallet, Jane...such a lovely way to give a cash gift.

Your girlie day out looked like a lot of fun, and how lucky were you all to have the mummy duck and her babies come up to you so close. I see that your little Daisy is not needing a finger to hang on to anymore...how quickly they grow up.

I left a comment on your stunning seashore niche, but it has not shown up. However, I noticed that someone else was also having trouble publishing her comment, so I wonder if there is a problem with Mr. Blogger???
