Smell the flowers

Good afternoon, it's been a pretty drear dull couple of days here in Surrey but I can still find some pretty views on my walks.

Someone had left some fish for the herons at the ponds.
The swans and ducks are beginning to pair up
and even on such a dull day I can find still find some colour in my garden.
My first hellebore has bloomed..such pretty colours. I decided to use them for my card today.

My card was made for Shery of STAMPlorations where I am delighted to have been invited back after my guest designing to join the Theme and Sketch team as a Designer. I am thrilled, thanks so much Shery.

For January we have the theme of
and this lovely sketch.

To join in with the challenge you can go with the theme or ditch the theme and go with the sketch.
You are also most welcome to combine them both. All the details are here. For my DT inspiration card I chose to work with the sketch. I used a metallic marker to draw the stripes on some card and then added some smudges and flicks of distress inks.

I then stamped the lovely cup of roses stamp  3 times, twice on card and once on patterned paper. I also used one of the 2 beautiful quotes on the sheet. If you would like 20% off this set or any other products use my code STAMPGIRLJANE over on the website here
I then started water colouring the plain images, which I decoupaged. The patterned paper image I just cut out the cup and saucer part.
I then put all my elements together for my card.
Here it is.
Here is a side view to show the extra dimension with my decoupaged pieces.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Rubber Dance 1/3 make it vintage
Happy Little stampers anything goes I have also used the optional twist of adding sequins.
As you like it 1/3 anything goes
Noor UK anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by today and remember to smell the flowers...even if the roses aren't quite out yet 😁

I am back on Monday with something very exciting to share...my first sample made with the brand new Visible Image stamps which are being released at Creativation in a few weeks time.

Have a lovely weekend

Bye for now,

  1. Lovely card Jane and that hellebore that inspired you is so beautiful. Hoping for a bit of sunshine here this weekend...it has been so wet and grey this week...no motivation forthcoming as a result! xx

  4. Your card is beautiful. Wet, windy and very drab here. My Hellebores are doing zilch at the moment. Your first one is very pretty. Mine is they do flower up are a dark mauve/purple colour. Hugs Mrs A.

  10. Beautiful card Jane, That flower image is amazing and really does resemble the big blossom in your garden! Even though it's gloomy, your area still looks so beautiful. We've had such cold weather that there hasn't been any fresh snow fall, so the old snow is brown and yellow now. ICK!! lol. sending hugs :)
