A Punk Rocker rocker card

Yes you read the title of my post correctly! Today I am here with an extra post for Visible Image to showcase another of their fab brand new stamp sets. These are all available to pre order on the website here.. The worldwide release date is 19 March. This is such a fun and very unique set called

  Refuse normal

As soon as I saw this set I thought of a punk rocker and a rocker card came to mind, so that is exactly what I made!

Here is how I did so;

I die cut 2 circles from black card. One 4" and one 6".

Using the ripped fishnet stencil

and kitsch flamingo oxide I added some stenciling to the "Rocker" part of the card  (This stencil works so well with this set). I then folded it in half to make the rocker.

I then made the front.

I stamped the punk, cut her out and coloured her with Zig watercolour pens

 I also stamped and coloured some extra hair so that I could layer it up. I snipped into the top of the hair so that it could look more layered when put together.
I used one of the sentiments in the set and then put everything together.
Here is my finished Punk rocker.
You can see that I added a little bit of chain too.

This really was great fun to make and although I was never a  punk (I was a heavy rock chick...LOL) I always remember a work colleague's daughter was a punk. People would cross the road when they saw her in full punk mode...but she was the sweetest girl you could meet. It really proves true the saying, "don't judge a book by its cover"!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Crafters Castle 1/3 anything goes
The alphabet challenge 2/3 X for extra folds
Crafty catz anything goes
Creative artiste 1/3 anything goes
Creative fingers 1/3 anything goes

and also this fab blog hop;

Women's Day blog hop

Hello and and extra warm welcome to my blog if you are a first time visitor. Today I am delighted to be part of the  STAMPlorations team who are taking part in the International Women's Day blog hop. It is also running over on Instagram. This is the 3rd annual hop and this year the focus is on empowerment.We all come from different backgrounds and cultures but crafting really does allow us to all join hands and recognize our wonderful diversity.  Too often we see on social media people being unkind......a little kindness and just a small word of support and encouragement really does go an awful long way. We can share kindness and all be our own kind of beautiful.

There are lots of awesome sponsors and lots of fab prizes to be won along the way!

You can find all the details here

This is what I got up to.

I made a distress stain spray background.

I then placed on the peacock feathers stencil and used lucky clover and twisted citron distress ink.
To make this background.
I love the encouragement words in the succulently stamp set and the fun cacti! I used these to make my focal which I die cut using one of the fab crazy running stitch dies
I then put everything together.

Here is my "encouragement" card.

with a close up
and one final shot;

Remember you can follow the whole Women's Day hop  here

If you would like to join me on Instagram you can find me here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Let's celebrate diversity and encourage one another. Enjoy hopping along and remember that you can join in and perhaps even be a lucky winner by adding your own makes via the linky on the main host page. Good luck!

***********And before you go I have something special to add....the lovely Shery who owns STAMPlorations is offering an extra prize to anyone who leaves a comment on any of the 6 STAMP girl designers (me included) who are taking part in this hop. So remember to add a little comment here and your name will go in the hat for an EXTRA STAMPlorations prize being offered over on the STAMP blog. You can check out the other STAMP girl posts for the hop here. *************

Back soon,

A graffiti rock T shirt for Visible Image

 Good morning I am back with a 2nd DT post this week showcasing another make using stamps from the brand new Visible Image release. Pre orders are open now on the website and the worldwide release date is March 19. There are 6 fab new stamp sets in this release. If you missed my first make with the Fearless Tiger you can see it here.

Today my make uses the incredibly versatile

Nothing to wear stamp set.

Together with a sentiment from the new must have sentiment set

Lost for words

The t shirt can be used for so many occasions and in so many styles as there are lots of extra little stamps to personalize it with. I decided to go for a "Graffiti/rock" look (think 1975 when I was a heavy rock chic..yes seriously..LOL).

This is what I got up to;
I made a graffiti background using more products that I can list. This was a mix of acrylic inks and sprays plus some paint all thrown in for good measure!
In real life there is lots of texture and sparkle in here!
To contrast with my background I made a white T shirt, adding the lips and word Rock.
I coloured the words in with Zig watercolour markers, added a little red to the lips and my signature glossy accents...they are so juicy and glossy in real life!
I have had my sewing machine out for these makes so I sewed some backgrounds for my sentiment and put my design together.
Here it is;
with some close ups

and one final shot.
