The clouds were fascinating. The view is wonderful at any time of the year. There are many oak trees at Box Hill and I was delighted to see acorns suspended in the branches. Like conkers I love these as an image of the autumn.
We have a seat we love to enjoy the view from, it is so peaceful. It is a place to watch the hustle and bustle of the world below whilst enjoying listening to the birds singing in the trees. There was a rustle in the grass at one point which was probably a rabbit but we didn't see him.
There were berries everywhere
and lots of Old Man's beard in the hedgerow.
It was a most pleasant way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
I am still very much in autumn mode with my card making. Thank you for the very kind comments you left for my last post. When I saw the Old Man's beard and acorns I immediately thought that today's card needed to be Fairy related. As I child I loved to read Enid Blyton and especially The Enchanted Wood adventures. I could just imagine some of the fairyland characters living in the trees and hedgerows at Box Hill ;0)You all seemed to like the hand made backing card I created in autumnal colours for my last card. I have used a small off cut of it on my card today, you can see it under the focal image.
The stamp is from Lavinia. I used an embossing folder for the yellow card. I love the way this yellow paper really stands out like sunshine. Here is my fairy in close up, I used some TH distress inks and spritzed with water to make the colours blend. I then added some embossed cobwebs here in the corners once everything was dry.
I used my spider's web stamp to emboss a few more cobwebs on the edges. The tag is a new Marianne die which I love. The sentiment is LOTV which I have used my Walnut stain Distress ink on.

Today was simply gorgeous, the sun is still shining and I planted up my bulbs. Yes it really is that time of the year already. This autumn has just been so pleasant, long may it last. I also bought some violas and pansies to give some colour to the pots whilst my bulbs sleep though the cold winter months and then come up in a blaze of colour next spring.
Enjoy the end of the weekend. I hope the sun shone for you too, if not I am sending some your way. Thanks so much for your kind visits and all the sweet comments you take the time to leave, I really appreciate it and I love to read them.

Hello Jane
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful photos which makes me feel decidedly homesick. I so miss a good walk in the woods. Like yourself I'm a fan of Enid Blyton and I'm introducing my 12 year old grand-daughter to the Famous five. I want her to enjoy their adventures as much as I did.
keep well
Amanda :-)
