Studio joy, Mindful Moments 4

Hello friends, it's Friday again and I am back with my 4th Mindful Moments blog post. If you did not see my first and wonder what these are do check out my first post here.  Thank you to everyone who has been reading them. I can see from my stats that these are getting at least twice the usual traffic of my other posts, which has really inspired me to keep trying to get them written weekly if I can. I really hope you are finding them a moment to make you smile and stay mindful during these very turbulent times.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments you left me on my last post, they really did mean so much.

As many of your know I am lucky enough to have an outdoor studio to craft in. It was built 9 years ago and smiles to me from the end of my garden. If you would like to see the post I wrote at that time it is here It really made me smile looking back.

 It does not have efficient heating or insulation so I only craft there from March til about late November, if the weather stays good.
 A few weeks back I decided that the time had come to open it up for the year and I thought you might like to see some photos from my recent spring clean. All the shelves got emptied and dusted.

My special hanging things got a dust.
 I cleaned the windows and teak oiled my precious desk which was installed by my dear Dad using teak from the old laboratories where he used to work. I love the history of this piece of wood. It has old burn marks from work from years gone by.
Once a year oiling keeps it pristine to craft on.
 How lucky I am to be able to sit at this desk and craft.
and yes it is now full of my crafting projects. I am truly grateful that I am able to sit here, listening to the birdsong and losing myself in my creativity.
I am also able to look out to my garden, smile at the antics of Billy, be mindful and be inspired. And no he is not a bird catcher at all...he would run the other way if a bird came near him!

My Mindful Moment project to share today is one of the Easter tags I made for my grand babies. I was inspired by the birdsong, which now that no planes fly overhead, is so loud and joyful.  The background stencil is Tim Holtz, the dies are a mixture and the dragonfly and sentiment stamp are by Visible Image.
I would like to enter it into the following challenges;

Lil patch of crafty friends 2/3 anything goes
More mixed media 2/3 anything goes
Sweet stampin 2/3 things with wings
We love to create 2/3 anything mixed media
Crafter's castle 2/3 anything goes
Through the purple haze 1/3 anything goes
Happy little stampers 1/3 anything goes with dies
Simon says stamp Wednesday spring moodboard

I have a little quote today which I think sums up how I feel about creating out in my studio;

"What keeps life fascinating is the constant creativity of the soul"

Deepat Chopra

Please keep safe, keep mindful, keep washing those hands and looking around at the beauty and inspiration from Mother Nature.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

With love, Jane x

  8. I'm so jealous of your little craft room, its just gorgeous!! Would love to have something like that myself, instead of sitting in the corner of the dining room. And the desk made by your Dad is such a wonderful memory for you and can understand why you love it so much. Your tag is beautiful, love the black silhouette of the animals and the different shades of green with the orange is very much like my garden now as we go into Autumn in New Zealand. And just said to my husband last night about how the birds are so loud without any planes, at least that is one good thing about this pandemic. So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT and please stay safe!
