The brand new Visible Image fearless tiger

 Hello again, I am back with my 2nd design team post for today. This is my fortnightly post for Visible Image and a very exciting one as I can reveal my first make with the brand new March release. Pre orders are from today and the release date is March 19. There are 6 new stamp sets in this release and today I am using 2 of them. The fabulous

  Fearless tiger

and the uber useful Grunge tones.

I decided to make canvas/wall hanging to showcase this gorgeous tiger. There are lots of photos ahead to share my process. Here we go;
I had the idea to have my tiger hiding in the jungle undergrowth so first I wanted to make some jungle foiliage. I drew some leaf shapes on white card and cut them out. I made some distress ink backgrounds and cut out my leaves using the shapes as a template.
I then used the Grunge tones to make them more realistic, adding depth and texture.

I also added depth by moulding them with my ball ended tool.

I stamped my tiger onto an alcohol ink background and a distress ink one, you will see why in a moment.
My plan was to have the tiger emerging from the jungle so I cut into the distress ink one leaving the ears and some of the outline behind. I cut into these to make "tabs" which I pulled forwards.
I added some ink and the grunge dots again to both the folded back tabs and the background
I stuck the alcohol inked tiger in place and decoupaged his ears so that they stuck through the aperture.
It was then time to add the foliage
and finally the sentiment which I matted with black card.

So here is the full reveal of my jungle tiger
with a couple of close ups

and one final shot.
I would like to enter my tiger into the following challenges;

  2. What a great piece of art, and the message it brings is so powerful. I love the bright colours you used in your creation, and the scenery you've created with foliage and folding - it looks like the tiger is coming right out of the jungle. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.
