Every year when we holiday in Rhodes we hire a car. One of the reasons is to visit a couple of restaurants we love which are a little out of the way. The other is to make an annual visit to the butterfly valley.
We were a little earlier visiting this year and there were more butterflies than we see later in the month. It is also such a pleasant walk up through the valley and a shield from the hot sunshine.
They are on every surface in the valley, trees, leaves, rocks and anywhere in between.
We also love spotting the lizards and freshwater crabs which live there.
It really is a place to sit and be mindful in...bliss.
My card also features butterflies.
I created an oxide background using Tim Holz inks and one of his floral stencils.
I then added some more stamping using his Lady Rose stamp set and one of his sticker quotes and finished off with my favourite Visible Image butterflies.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;
Stamping sensations 3/3 something beginning with B mine is butterfly and beautiful (in the quote)

Whenever life gets hectic I just close my eyes and can transport myself back to that day in the butterfly valley, they were indeed beautiful moments.
Thanks for stopping by and have a super weekend. We will be collecting more beautiful moments with our kids and grandkids as we are off on a conker hunt on Sunday. I hope you can find some beautiful moments (and conkers!!) too.
Back soon,
Bye for now,
Jane x

So pleased that you’ve joined us again Jane. This is such a beautiful card and lovely that you were inspired to make it after your holiday. Your photos are lovely, especially the butterfly ones, I think I’d be inspired too. Thank you for sharing this with us at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures and I couldn't see the butterflies until the next picture...Wow! That is amazing how many there are just on that tree alone. What a beautiful place to walk in. You created a magical card that brings nature to us. I love the background you created and the butterflies match the ones you saw.
ReplyDeleteIt must feel magical to walk through all those butterflies. I love your photos of the garden too, and another pretty card to top it all off! Glad to see your inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly valley looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the photos. Your card is beautiful, the butterflies look so striking against your lovely background. xx
ReplyDeleteHow neat that you go to see them each time you visit. I think I remember seeing them before. That's a LOT of butterflies! Love the card, hop you win the contests! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Jane! And it sums up the Butterfly Valley so well. It's such a tranquil place and so good to see it still seems to be unspoilt. I know a good few years ago they were worried about the massive decline in numbers of moths (which they really are apparently, or so we were told when there). They're glorious and it does seem as if numbers are fine! Hooray! And a lot of envy as well.
