Rusty love

After the heat and wall to wall hot sunshine of the weekend we are back to our more normal spring temperatures. I think it must be a good 10c cooler today but at least the sun is still shining.
 My frilly pansies have bloomed all winter and are still showing off now...they are so pretty with their rusty coloured veins. This links in quite well with my blog post today...

 I'm here today to share my 2nd DT post for Country View Challenges where our theme for the month is "Rust". If you missed my first post, where I shared a rusty birthday card you can see it here. For this project I chose another of those inky rusty off cuts and decided to turn it into a rusty heart. I drew a heart on paper

and used it as my template.
I traced round it and cut it out
and then got out my rust coloured DecorArt paints to alter it further.

I added more paint

and also added some to my other offcuts.

To add texture to my rusty heart I applied some frantage.

When it had cooled I went over areas of it with metallic Distress paint.

I
For a background I stamped my old Visible Image Bronte verse script stamp and  die layered it up with some die cut card using my Mixed media die by Tim Holtz.

It was then time to put all my elements together. Here is my finished card..which has already sold in Dotty's Tearooms.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Allsorts 3/3 bring on the bling
The Ribbon Girl 3/3 April any card challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by today and remember you have until 30th April to get rusty and join in with the fun over at Country View! This is the link

Back soon...yes I have not forgotten about my Ally Pally post, I will share it later this week. Thanks for all your lovely comments on yesterday's Ally Pally post and a very warm welcome to my newest followers.

Bye for now,
